"Statements are true until contradicted."

Hello,

Just wanted to ask a question regarding this kind of answer.

What do you guys think of this line as an argument:

"Statements are true until contradicted"

Is it a somewhat of what may be considered "valid" to a degree? Or could it be a flawed "answer"?

How about if this is the "answer" when dealing with in-series character and/or author statements? What you guys thing of such "answer"?

If it's a fallacy in a sense, what kind?

In my opinion authors don't write information that is false, but can not be identified as such, in their work.

However, balantly being contradicted is only one way for an author to show to the reader that a statement should not be taken as literal truth. For example: It coming from a source the reader has to assume does not know what it is talking about is another way to show a reader that the statement is to be taken with a grain of salt.

Soooo... basically go by the statements page for the most part.
