Speed Equalized as a standard battle assumption?

Given how often speed needs to be equalized to make a match possible, I feel it should become a standard battle assumption.

Disagree. It makes the value of speed useless, just make one of this to don't have to add it all the times.
 
Given how having a speed advantage almost always makes a match a stomp, I'd say speed is already kind of useless
 
Except when the difference is short and it's a legit advantage to a character, we can't just take that away by making all matchups having that, it's would be unfair and incredibly frustrating. Having speed equalized only when necessary is simple and fair.
