Just like everything else there is for the verse, I don't think there is any justification.

There's no feat nor calc that has could back up their current speeds, i believe. We only have calcs for their AP, though. Just not speed.

I'm actaully planning on deleting the whole verse. Nobody except for one guy (who was warned by Ant last year to not upgrade the characters only to keep doing that and putting it bullshit justifications) is will to invistigate the series enough.
