Regarding abilities for characters with different continuities.

Lets say a character has shown an ability in an event in one continuity, but that event is stated to take place in another continuity, can we give the version of the character in the other continuity that ability?

I ask because I mentioned this in a Sonic thread where in the Archie Comics, they will sometimes tell you to play the games to find out what happens. I was curious if abilities characters have shown in those games Archie tells you to play can be scaled to their Archie counterparts.

Probably not. Also I'm pretty sure that was more a thing in really early Archie sonic, before he got the bulk of his abilities. Scaling from a tie in like that doesn't seem like something we can really do.

They also did that with Sonic Chronicles, which came out in 2008.

That game kinda doesn't fit into Canon like at all, due to the issue with the ending. It's probably Canon somehow, but unless the comic picks up after that cliffhanger, idk about saying the events of Chronicles in particular happened since that causes issues.

This also happens with Sonic Rush, Rush Adventures and others new games.

Since the Sonic Rush tie-in it's said that these storys are from the Another Time, Another Place Zone. That's the Game Sonic zone. So, they aren't canon to Mobius Prime Zone.

But, later the Rush, Rush Adventures and Chronicles are retconned by new Storylines (Like the Shadow Saga and the Archie Sonic Databook) and then these games are also canon to the story.

So, old games with tie-in would be fine, but the new ones Since Sonic Rush aren't, unless there's a official statement saying that's canon. Like the ones about 06, Sonic Rush, Rush Adventure and Chronicles.

@wokistan the Game-Comic Archie tie-in don't fit in the storylines multiples times, but that's simple plot holes that the authors don't know how to solve.

Like how the Green Emerald was in the Sol Zone if it was with Feist ? The whole Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure games don't fit in the storyline, but they are cleary canon. Just like Suffle, Chronicles and others games.

This is why Ian create the Another Time, Another Place idea, but for no reason he used but the Rush and Chronicles Storyline in the comic, even after it's said that these storys are from the Another Time, Another Place Zone.

Maybe these storylines are Dual Continuity, canon to both sides, but the sides aren't canon to each other.
