Difficult fight.

Kinda wish I had just entered 200% Nora, but it is fine xD.

Anyway, Nora can hold off the attacks with her sword. Her sword is completely invulnerable to damage so as long as she can block attacks she will be fine.

It's a really big shield considering it is larger than her body.

Since Nora is so much weaker in base she will just have to continually block attacks until she gets up to 200%.

And before you ask, no you can't just take her sword. She can summon and telekinetically pull it back into her hands.

Imma just wait for Spinoirr before saying anything more...

This is probably one of the most anticipated matches of the tournament, between arguably two of the strongest characters present.

Whoever loses is very likely to end up winning the Loser's Bracket, so we might see this match again (if one of them gets updated a bit as I'll allow minor adjustments when Loser's Bracket begins, otherwise rematch won't be necessary as it would be the same outcome)

Blake is comparably in skill to her step brother Bann (Kakarot) and has been using ki (even if it's basic level) for years in the White Fang against robots and people too, if he flies away Blake can use her weapon to drag him down to fight him or shoot ki blasts at him

Also Blake has lightning shots that has some aoe, ice dust that also has some aoe

She can fight alongside and train with her step-brother; Bann Belladonna, who knows all martial arts like Grandpa Gohan in Dragon Ball did

Her skill when it comes to combat and the usage of ki allows her to replicate other ki-based techniques after seeing them once. She can fight alongside and train with her step-brother; Bann Belladonna, who knows all martial arts like Grandpa Gohan in Dragon Ball did

Blake in cannon, when she's in her second outfit can do this

In cannon she can do this, so imagine her growing up with a au version of Goku for a brother and having years of using ki manipulation under her belt and being skilled as gramp Gohan basically

She scales above that in skill too

Nora was able to hold her own against an early MEGA, with the latter even telling her she "put up one hell of a fight" during their spar.

To say MEGA is a combat genius is a bit of an understatement. Even before being Reincarnated and buffed supremely, MEGA was someone who was insanely gifted in combat sports. He participated in virtual swordsmanship in his futuristic Earth setting, winning thousands of times against other professional swordsmen, while only losing a total of 14 matches.

Within the very first day of being Reincarnated, he managed to gain enough skill to predict the movements of a Reincarnate with 25 years of experience named Reina Solaris, in a sword fight. With Reina being someone who has almost never lost a duel before in her life, capable of dodging attacks on instant and predicting the future in her own right.

In just the next few days of living, MEGA's prediction began to "border on precognition," following him managing to predict people moving at lightning speed from kilometers away, and then hit them with lightning speed projectiles. To put that into perspective, I want you to imagine trying to hit someone moving at the speed of a bullet, with a bullet from a handgun, from distance of 10km away.

Sounds impossible, right? Exactly. MEGA stated that he would need to practically have precognition to have even the slightest chance of hitting someone like that. And yet, with just a bit of practice, he was able to evolve to that level.

MEGA was even capable of dodging straight up vibrations via sheer skilled footwork and shit.

And that was all before fighting Nora, who was able to parry him and sometimes even get him on his toes.

During the fight he was even predicting Nora based on every muscle twitch, literally dodging attacks before she even made them, and she was still able to hold on for a prolonged period of time.

I guess nobody here can hope to land their hands on Nora then
Well, that isn't to say that you can't even land a hit on her. But yeah, she's quite skilled.

She also is constantly growing the more she fights. She gets better at an exponential rate. Think of her like an AI.

Blake definitely isn't going to be skill stomping her like she did to the others.

Also, even MEGA didn't even want to parry her giant sword because he would risk destroying his own sword. Her sword is invincible, so if you strike it with all your might, you are practically just reflecting your own attack potency into your own blade.

Do that enough times and you'll end up snapping your sword in two.

Banns skill (Blake skill scales to him)

Beacon arc:

Fought alongside his sister Blake and Adam for years
Trained his whole life to the point he is naive outside of anything to do with combat and knows all martial arts
Got into beacon without going to a combat school and without a weapon other then his hands, kicks and ki attacks
mimicked pennys beam with ki and made the Kamehameha just after seeing her use her beam once
he taught team JNPR how to use ki during their break
Fought on par with phyrra in the food fight with his hand to hand skills
Could tell mercury was holding back against phyrra and questioned why he quit after seeing her semblance
Figured out Cinder (who they only knew as a mystery woman in all black) using the maiden powers to freeze Him, Ruby and piccolo in the CTT was definitely not ki nor dust or even a semblance but didn't know exactly what it was
Made it to the finals of the tournament with piccolo and his team picking him to go to the finals
Hears from velvet that coco also saw something that wasn't there in the match against merc and em alongside ruby, making Bann wonder if mercury has a ability to make people see things
Bann holds off mercury with orange amp (his semblance that gives him a 4x boost in power) and predicts some of his moves despite the massive speed difference but is forced to run away as he still was being overwhelmed

Mistrial arc:
Knew how to fight with his new gun Sword By copying how his sister fought with her weapon
Tried to help Ruby fight Tyrain, but Tyrain was too strong and fast for him but he did dodge some of his hits via predicting them like he did with mercury
Ozpin saw bann as a good person for helping Ruby and Oscar to learn hand to hand combat better while he isn't controlling Oscar

More for skill
At the bottom of the skill chain is aura users as a whole. While every living being in RWBY technically has Aura, actually being able to utilize it for things such as defense, regen, and senses requires years of training and a high enough degree of martial skill (and yes you actually need martial skill for it) that only a small percentage of the population of the entire planet ever become skilled enough to utilize their aura. Of that small percentage, an even smaller percentage ever become skilled enough to manifest/control a Semblance (yes semblances are also skill-based). To reach this small percentage comes to the second half of the bottom of the chain: Almost every character worth their salt in RWBY has spent their entire life training in combat and can fight hordes of Grimm with little issue (Almost because Jaune exists). The entirety of the main cast of RWBY was initially enrolled at Beacon Academy, one of the most prestigious combat schools in the world, with almost everyone who was accepted there having been trained for almost their entire life to fight monsters, and each one that was not professionally trained requiring a skill display overseen by Ozpin, who has the composite skill of several thousand professional huntsmen that he accumulated over his immortal lifetime and has trained with Kami and is more skilled than end of og Dragon Ball Goku

Thats the baseline for skill in the verse.

Moving up the chain we have Nebula Violette, who not only outmatched Velvet in a 1v1 test of martial arts skill, but was directly stated to be more skilled than Velvet in combat despite Velvet mixing numerous fighting styles to try to throw her off in their fight.

Above her is Pyrrha Nikos, the skill god of the Beacon Arc. Pyrrha is one of the most skilled students at Beacon Academy, having won every combat tournament she has entered since she was a pre-teen due to both her mastery of combat and mastery of her semblance, being able to apply it in combat completely undetected and having done so in almost every fight she's been in for over a decade, doing so with such skill and precision that she has lead many to believe she is untouchable and invincible as no one has been able to even land a blow on her in her combat career. Even without her semblance she has shown the ability to quickly and easily adapt to her combat situation and analyze her opponents while fighting and changing tactics to suit the situation she is in. She has shown extreme accuracy, being able to hit moving targets from hundreds of meters away and strike vital weak points on an opponent mid-combat both with and without the aid of her semblance. She is also highly skilled at using her weapon's multiple forms in combat, being able to switch between forms several times in rapid succession to both deliver rapid attacks and counter others simultaneously. Blake fought evenly with Phyrra in Beacon

Why is her sword invincible?
It's a divine weapon. An armament of heaven with commandments inscribed within it. One such commandment being that it cannot be destroyed. As such, no matter how much force it is hit with, it will not break.

Couldn't Enhanced Senses/Extrasensory Perception help here deal with that (as in see it)

Also like can't Blake just tie her up with her superior lifting strength

I deleted my previous message by accident lol

What does "divine weapon" mean in this context? what is "armament of heaven"? what is "commandments" who has inscribed them? Why commandments saying it cannnot be destroyed makes it invincible?

I was asking for precise hax/physiological reason why it is invincible. Ark is quite interesting verse, very comprehensive

Gungnir is Nora's subjective perception of Heaven physically manifested as a sword. So it is a heavenly divine weapon. "Armament" means weapon. Gungnir is entwined with and powered by the people's perception of Heaven. As long as people belief in heaven, it will have the power of the commandments. In this key she only has the first commandment.

Commandment 1: Patience: As a sword it is unbreakable.

To simplify, as long as people believe in Heaven, the sword is invincible.

What exactly does that help with? The sword is a sword.

As for your second question, how would Blake tie her up? You think Nora is just going to stand there and let her do that?

Which people's perception? Arkanes?

ah yes the same info concept soul mind willpower shenanigans
Well that part ain't really relevant here.

@Spinoirr Anything else regarding Blake's tactics?

How is she going to deal with Nora bombarding her with slashes? She fights like a fighting game character, going for combo moves and such. She is also very acrobatic and she can swing her sword around like its weightless.

Bare in mind, Nora's sword is like 9 feet long. Blake's sword gets outranged extremely badly. Attempting to trade blows will just end up with Blake rapidly losing her Aura health points since Nora can hit her while she can't hit Nora.

Even dodging will be difficult. The sword is so big you have to move a large distance just to get out of her sweeping path. And by that time she could already have 360'd back around to where you are now.

Wait you'll allow changes? Rereading some of this 2 year old plot, I have realized Nora is downplayed a bit and missing some things. I will probably give her a minor update.

yeah minor stuff and only for those in the losers bracket

Phoenks, my man, since you are here can you drop a comprehensive argument on why Nora wins and vote and then Spinoirr responds to it if he can when he logs so we can conclude this and go to Semifinals

I kinda need to know what Blake does to make a convincing argument lol

Oops, I thought Spinoirr already said it by dropping several texts but whatever

later then

With her weapon and shadow clones and stealth

Focus on dodging and bullet and ki blasts + Blake is also acrobatic too

"Blake possesses remarkable reflexes, as she is able to dodge a nearly point-blank strike from Adam by using her Semblance. She is also capable of jumping large distances, leaping from building to building and even on moving cars. Her fighting style takes advantage of her agility and reflexes, evading opponents' strikes until she is in the best position for a counter-blow"

With her weapon and shadow clones and stealth
Stealth won't work on Nora due to good senses and mana sense.

How strong are shadow clones?

Bullet/ki blast are going to get blocked by big sword.

So she's just going to keep dodging forever? That's going to allow Nora the time to hit 200%

What I mean is would dodge only after Nora goes 200%

Blake's semblance
Shadow, is the Semblance of Blake Belladonna. Her Semblance is first seen in the "Black" Trailer prior to Volume 1 and its purpose explained in "Mountain Glenn".

It allows her to create clones of herself, which push her in whichever direction she wants, even in mid-air. These clones are solid but can be dispelled easily if hit or if Blake moves too far away from them. They can also be used to distract foes or take hits for Blake.

Blake is able to produce clones of herself, pushing her towards a direction of her choosing. These clones are easily dispelled, and are used as distractions or substitutes for hits.

Blake can use Dust to give her clones additional abilities, such as creating a fiery explosion or freezing an opponent's weapon in place. Blake can also load Gambol Shroud with Dust to give her shadow clones offensive capability. Dust allows the clones to copy an element, with her afterimages becoming completely solid or even completely intangible depending on the chosen form of Dust. Fire Dust allows her to create fiery clones that explode on contact, Ice Dust allows her to create solid ice copies of herself and Earth Dust allows her to create a clone of solid stone.

In "Mountain Glenn", Blake says that her Semblance is a reflection of her tendency to run from her problems rather than face them; she leaves behind an empty copy of herself which takes the hit while she escapes.

Blake could dodge using shadow, freeze her sword in place with ice dust clones that's durable enough where people comparable to her can't break it and then go ham attacking her as she'd be forced to abandon her sword

I don't think Shadow clones would work very well. Nora would be able to tell them apart from Blake due to her soul possessing mana under equalization and such.

Also, as I said before, Nora can summon her sword back to her hands. So trying to freeze it is pointless. And would just allow Nora to get the upper-hand on Blake by catching her off guard.

If Nora goes 200% with ID, she can manifest one of her desires onto reality. For example, say she wanted to land attacks of Blake, she could just wish for her attacks to hit her, and thus they would be warped into doing so via probability manipulation.

She could also desire to be stronger and gain a significant amplification.

my thoughts is can anyone on this tournament lands hits on someone who apparently fought and evaded attacks from someone with prediction that borders precognition

I think both of these two are way too skilled for this tournament and my thoughts are regret for not implementing restrictions on skill level of entrants lol

Skill can be overcome by abilities and different tactics. Also, Nora isn't like super crazy sure she evaded attacks from someone that skilled and managed to hold her own but, she's relatively inexperienced, and it isn't like MEGA was going full throttle on her. It was a spar.

How do you even restrict skill? Seems super subjective.

I am mostly curious on who you think wins the fight though?

It seems it can be, like huge aoe attacks that leave no room to dodge or something like that maybe, since it was a spar is it safe to say she doesn't fully scale to fighting someone with that level of ap/precog

i will not it is a joke

Spinoirr isn't responding any more it seems, so you gotta drop an argument based on what you know and we'll see

I mean based on what I know I think Blake's streak is over.

Nora can block all of her attacks with her sword before going 200% and gaining a huge boost in power and speed + gets one of her desires granted on the basis of small-scale probability manipulation.

Blake can take a lot of attacks with Aura, but Nora has the stamina to go on for a very, very, very long time.

In fact, now that I've just mentioned it to myself. RWBY characters do get tired after fighting their battles. Battles that usually don't last a crazy amount of time. Nora, on the other hand, practically doesn't get tired at all. While simultaneously continuing to develop more and more as the fight goes on.

So while Blake is getting weaker and fatigued as they continue, the opposite is true for Nora.

This might actually be the single biggest advantage Nora has in this fight. Even if she isn't able to do a whole lot of damage, her sword's defensive capability is more than enough to simply stall Blake to the end of time and then take full advantage once she's weakened.

In one of Nora's fights, she outlived all of time while still fighting. This was on her second key, but nothing changed about her stamina, since that's a physiological factor built into her synthetic form.

So actually, on that basis alone I think I have to go Nora here.

- Her superior defense counters Blake's offense. An indestructible, 9 foot sword that can guard your entire body at once is quite the good shield against projectiles and whatever other magic Blake throws at her. And the sword can't be taken away.

- Nora wins in close quarters. Blake is not only worse from a combative skill department, but has a far worse weapon with drastically less range. Meaning she is at a significant disadvantage even if you don't take skill into account.

- Nora wins the battle of attrition. Blake can't go on forever, Nora can, and while she does it, she'll only become more and more of a threat. It will only be so long until Blake's Aura depletes.

Good points, now we wait

On a side note, I'm çürıöüş, what sort of ability would be able to bypass the sword's invulnerability and break/destroy it?

Uh, I mean. Dura neg would work but she can just create another one since the idea of Heaven is still believed in, thus the swords concept itself still lives.

If you wanted to permanently destroy the sword, you'd need to get rid of everyone's belief in Heaven, including Nora's. Good luck with that.

What would get rid of everyone's belief in heaven/destroy the sword's concept? I know but basic memory and concept hax wont work due to arkane shenanigans but to what level would it be effective?
