Question about fusions.

I mean, Fusion was stated to be weaker SSG back in Battle of God, fast forward 4 years later and base fusion is stronger than SSGSS now somehow. Any new form you achive seems to factor into the fusion.

If Goku master Ultra Instinct in the future, then we will have base Gogeta/Vegito being stronger than UI Goku.

Yeah, Fusion doesn't seem to be linear. The most consistent trait seems to be that its base form (if it even has multiple forms) > Its fusion materials at full power.

In that regards, Fusion Being "A's power level x B's Power level" doesn't seem to be that much of a stretch, considering its seemingly exponential nature.

Come to think of it, are we sure the retcon is legit? In DBS base Kefla is many times stronger than Kale and Caulifla, who were way weaker than SSG Goku together while base Kefla washed him. In DBS: Broly, Gogeta needed to go SSJ to fight SSJ Broly and was even comparable him. All base Gogeta did was defect a few Ki blasts, something SSB Goku was able to do.
It's said in the movie that Gogeta just had to get a tad serious at the end, so we can infer that most of the time it was kinda like SSJ Vegito vs Buuhan how he was just fighting leisurely.

Gogeta avoided AND deflected Broly's attacks pretty easily. Blue Goku had a pretty hard time escaping and blocking SSJ Broly attacks

Did he block any of Broly's attacks? All I can remember is Goku and Vegeta flying around and trying to phase Broly with blows, and Broly just tearing through everything like it was paper mache.

This SSG Discussion reminded me of my old opinion all the way back.

Think of SSG as an Addition.

For the sake of argument, let's just say Base Goku before getting SSG is a 5 and Vegeta is a 5.

Goku (5) x Vegeta (5) = Gogeta (25)

However, SSG is a massive power boost in terms of addition

Goku (5) + SSG (95) = SSG Goku (100)

Far, FAR above Gogeta.

So now since their base forms equals their God Forms, if they were to go God again, they'd get

Goku (100) + SSG (95) = 195

But if Goku were to fuse with Vegeta...

Goku (100) x Vegeta (100) = 10,000

Now Fusion is just plain stronger than God form, bar absolutely 0. This falls in line with what we see in the Broly Movie (Just Base/SS Gogeta did much better than Goku and Vegeta did as SSBs).

Now obviously God form isn't a linear addition like that but the same line of reasoning seems to generally apply.

No idea how this falls into the current discussion but just my thoughts on the matter.

upon broly starting to fight? no, it was as you said, broly was the one effortlessly tanking and parrying.

however, during brolys transformation, goku did deflect energy blast that were just side effects of the transformation, but it blew of his top half of his clothes, which says alot on how strong that residue was.

Basically sounds like Goku could handle Broly as he was powering up, but once Broly was done Goku couldn't do a damned thing.
