The Goomba is stronger, so if Nugs tries jumping on it or beating it, he can be thrown off. Goomba also has thorns and acrobatics. Nugs can heal and throw Poke Balls but the Goomba can just beat him down until he’s out with superior stamina and grab the ball. I think Goomba wins.

Thorn isn't exactly that impressive a projectile considering it's merely one thorn being shot, even without much physical combat experience Nugs should be able to dodge it. Nugs also has a considerable range advantage in physical combat considering he has actual limbs that allow for farther attacks while Goomba would really only be able to dish out attacks by attempting to charge him

But it could instantly kill or injure Nugs if he tries to get close which he kinda has to since there’s no other way to win with Goomba’s Toon Force. And both are Standard Melee while Goomba gets Extended Melee with the thorn.
