Mortal Kombat Speed Justifications

Who scales?

I think i recall Sonya Blade for one having it as well. But i have no idea to a whole lot of who this scales to. Could be the whole cast that's superior to Reptile (assuming some don't have superior speed feats and all higher than Supersonic, that is).

Our MK pages are a pure mess. They scale everyone to Raiden who even when sealed is a god-tier. Sometimes fights are obvious outliers.

I'll wait until someone highly knowledgeable on the verse replies before I make any edits.

>Mortal Raiden is stronger than Liu Kang.

>Liu Kang is such a top-tier that he beats Scorpion + Quan Chi (Two other really strong characters) together, and then beats Goro (Another top tier), and then Shang Tsung (Above Goro) one after the other.

>Amped Sindel is so overpowered to most characters that she basically murders most of the cast in MK9, and it's still said that if either Raiden or Liu Kang were there they could have stopped her

>The profiles scale EVERYONE to Raiden

B-but Sonya beat Raiden.

The fact that people are stupid enough to think he was going all out despite the scene two seconds later makes me fail to even.

Can I just be honest and say the entirity of the mortal kombat pages are a mess? People are scaled for small, no nonsense fights. Speed is at best, what the heck how did this person get this ranking etc.

Honestly, they need alot of work. Scaling is wonky to begin with so it might be best to do at the very least speed revisions. I can make a post about my issues with the pages, but I think most members will say the same thing.

"Speed is wonky, powerscaling is ridiculous and some characters dont have any justification for their stats."

I agree that the pages need serious improvements.

The verse page is also a copypasta from the OBD Wiki. I pointed that out months ago and none of the Supporters for the verse ever did anything to correct it.

I will read it if you still have it posted? I know alot about MK and I do think even the OBD pages are just wrong. My biggest problem is scaling and speed. And some pages are just copy pasted with scaled characters from one another with a different template.

Edit: For the record, wanted to do mk calcs, but I cant find a feet we can calc and set as a baseline with.

The problem with MK is that every character fights each other at some point in throwaway fights to fill up the story mode's runtime.

Which should focus on fights that matter.

The crux of the matter it seems is that it is up to us to decide which fights should matter I mean, we could have Sonya scale off raiden, that is crazy But what about a more benign fight like Liu Kang vs Kitana?

Just some thoughts. But I think we should probably take precedence on the endings, then fights in story mode. Kabal almost got killed by Mavado, so Kabal < Mavado. Simple and easy to keep up with. At the same time, we can also scale Johnny Cage with Sonya since the two are fundamentally comparable with eachother. Edit: Also, a key for the old timeline and the reboots seem like a good idea if we do something like this, not sure if we already do that since I dont have a profile pulled up.

@Matthew Giggity Point stands, in more simple terms Canon endings > Fights > Semi Canon Endings > Everything else (Partially true ones that involve certain characters should probably be taken with a grain of salt.)

That is how I see it, that and deduction to see if a fight is pis or not.

Now let's see, by taking into account that the fighters fought and injured each other during the fights [This fights matters as they progress the course of the story], and this is showed on several occasions like the MKX Kano vs Kotal Kahn fight, these matches are all canon.

Bi-Han fights and defeats Scorpion, Sareena, Fujin, Quan Chi and Shinnok. Johnny Cage fights and defeats Reptile, Baraka, Sony Blade and Kano. Sonya Blade fights and defeats Kuai Liang, Raiden, Jade, Kitana and Kano. Scorpion defeats Kung Lao, Nightwolf, Human Cyrax, Human Sektor and then kills Kuai Liang. Human Cyrax fights and defeats Sheeva, Baraka, Johhny Cage and Human Sektor. Liu Kang fights and defeats Ermac, Kitana, Scorpion, Quan Chi, Goro and Old Shang Tsung. Jax fights and defeats Baraka, Johhny Cage, Jade and Sheeva. Human Smoke fights and defeats Kitana, Kano, Young Shang Tsung morphed as Kuai Liang, Reptile and Cyborg Sektor. Bi-Han fights and defeats Motaro, Cyborg Cyrax, Ermac, Reptile and Scorpion. Kitana fights and defeats Smoke, Johnny Cage, Jade, Mileena and Young Shang Tsung. Jade fights and defeats Baraka, Sheeva, Mileena and Smoke. Kung Lao fights and defeats Noob Saibot (Reborn Kuai Liang), Goro, Shang Tsung, Quan Chi and Kintaro (Then gets killed by Shao Kahn, who is nearly killed by Liu Kang). Stryker fights and defeats Reptile, Mileena, Kintaro and Ermac. (Motaro was going to kill Johnny Cage, but Raiden killed him)Kabal fights and defeats Kano, Mileena, Noob Saibot, Cyborg Bi-Han and Sheeva. Cyborg Bi-Han fights and defeats Cyborg Sektor, Kintaro, Goro, Ermac and Noob Saibot. Nightwolf fights and defeats Quan Chi, Noob Saibot, then there is a sneak attack from Cyborg Cyrax and Sektor, which Smoke tried to fight, but Nightwolf defeated them. An amped with souls Sindel arrives and kills Cyborg Bi-Han, Jax, Striker, Kabal, Smoke, Kitana and Jade. Nightwolf then sacrifices himself in order to kill her. Raiden fights Quan Chi and Revenant Jax, Stryker, Kabal, Kitana, Nightwolf, Smoke and Jade. After killing Liu Kang, he fought after being charged by the Elder Gods an amped with souls Shao Kahn, which he manages to kill and save the realms. And this is only MK9, this scale gets far worst in the MKX Comic and the Game.

The scaling was also strange since because we have Noob Saibot injuring Goro, Kabal fighting with Mavado, who gets oneshotted by Cassie Cage in the Comic. Tremor fighting Jax in the other timeline and then gets defeated by simple gunshots from Sonya in the comic. Reiko struggling to handle Kotal Kahn [Who destroyed Goro], Mileena and Ermac. Skarlet stomping Jacqui, who can defeat Ermac, Reptile and etc. Kabal and the revenants injuring Fujin and Raiden in Mortal Kombat X and this leads to all these events [Watch the videos, especially the last one], which shows the the scaling is a mess.

afaic, the speed scaling comes from Reptile, that dodged bullets.
Could have been aimdodging if we are going to look at the scene.

It was a sufficient distance that I can probably chalk it up to aimdodging.

@Kinkiest

Perhaps.

Can in-game attacks be considered for speed revisions? I think not, but if so, then it gets a bit easier to scale speed.
