I don't remember when the dragon thing was debunked, but it's actually pretty simple. He doesn't get scaled to the dragon, even with Aurora Pillar, because he attacked the dragon's heart directly, as in, he was literally standing right in front of the dragon's heart.

If someone's shrinks themselves, goes inside someone else's body and stops right in front of their heart, and then throws a knife at it, thus killing the other person, would they get scaled to the guy they just killed? Of course not. This is the same thing, except Izayoi didn't have to change his size and he was using a pillar of energy instead of a knife.
