Ki Sensing to Strength

When a character in DB gets stronger, does their ability to sense Ki get more powerful along with their own Ki?
 
I don't think so, when Cell kicks Vegeta Krillin was able to sense Cell's power, but Trunks couldn't.
 
No? Although it gets easier to detect you since you basically create a bigger fire for people to sense. Its like upgrading your power supply, doesn't increase the capabilities of my radar
