KE calcs

Isn't it kinda illogical to assume one shown feat magically obeys the laws of KE physics while others that should logically scale don't?

I don't think I understand the question. Are you saying why do we assume stuff like relativity and kinetic energy for fictional verses?

If that's the case, it's because its one of those things that there's no reason not to assume in a fictional verse. If a fictional verse takes place on earth, we wouldn't assume every single last thing not specified to be the same isn't the same unless specifically shown.

No, I'm not saying that.

It's just that we have a rule known as Calc Stacking which is used to stop characters from gaining inflated statistics based on KE calculations, as even a City Block level character would be MHS+, and RWBY would be city level.

However, this means that we, in essence, assume that one onscreen feat obeys the laws of KE physics, while every other feat that should logically scale doesn't follow said laws. This is almost universally a completely unevidenced assumption.

Ah. In that case, part of the reasoning behind it is the exact reasoning behind calc stacking. If we do a KE calc, it goes only by what we can observe. We cannot simply take points from that and apply it to another character in another calc because it is basically an assumption we cannot justify. If a character weighing two hundred lbs moves at MHS+ speeds, we can do a calc for KE using that speed and that weight. If another character weighing two hundred tons moves at Hypersonic+ speeds, we can do a KE calc using that speed and that weight. We cannot mix the two because both did not come from the same source.
