How strong are Light sabers

They seem to be able to cut through a lot of things and Darth Vader is very powerful because of them.

What tiers would that put the light sabers at?

Thanks for reading.

The Everlasting might be able to help out, if you ask him.

@Adam

It says, "Varies based on person."

Being stronger in the Force means more Force Amplification = stronger strikes = cuts through more stuff.

Now I get it. Darth Vader is very powerful with the force so that makes perfect sense!

Thanks to those who answered. I appreciate it.

Not sure about the cutting power limit of lightsabers in Legends but in Disney canon, lightsabers can cut through characters and armour with solid Town level+ durability even in the hands of low tier Jedi/Sith such as Ezra as of Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels. We see him cutting through the armour of an AT-AT in one episode. Kanan and Vader can do the same casually.

In one canon Vader comic, Cylo implies that Vader cut through the armour of a large capital ship. This implies High 7-A cutting power in the hands of high and top tier Jedi/Sith. But since it was off screen and only implied, I don't think we can use this as a legitimate feat.

So can we conclude that the stronger the Jedi/Sith are, the stronger the lightsabers will be?
That appears to be the case based on what we've seen in canon.

Ezra seemingly put in some effort to cut through AT-AT armour but even Kanan can do so casually. Ezra is stated to have greater potential than Kanan but right now Kanan is far superior.

In one canon comic, Leia (who is only athlete level) put all her strength into cutting through a normal stone wall (it was during that business on Nar Shaddaa with Grakkus the Hutt). But someone with wall level physical strength (like Sergeant Kreel) was shown cutting through a blast door on a capital ship corridor no problem.

Both of these clearly show that with greater physical strength behind a blow (be it natural or Force augmented), the greater the cutting power of the lightsaber. In the hands of a physically fit human, they can just about cut through a thick stone wall. But in the hands of any Jedi/Sith who has received training in lightsaber combat, we're looking at solid town level+ cutting power.
