IIRC Frieza was about equal to SSB Goku pre-ToP, we don't know how much stronger Goku got between Goku black arc and ToP arc but we know Vegeta was superior to him back then

Vegeta had much better showing against Jiren than Goku did as mere SSB

Frieza is around pre-ToP base SSB Goku's level as mentioned. Vegeta should be around similiar levels of power, whether stronger or weaker, I dunno. However, Vegeta fighting a heavily supressed Jiren, was enough for Jiren to admit that Vegeta wasn't half bad. Not to mention Vegeta seeing through Jiren's attacks to actually land a hit after he'd been knocked aside before.

One thing we can definitely say is that Vegeta is a lot tougher or at least a lot more tenacious than Frieza.

So, I think that Vegeta can pull a win here after a long fight.

Erm. Iirc Goku was > Vegeta by the end of the Future trunks Saga.

IIRC, the only thing Goku had over Vegeta was the Kaio-Ken. They both got zenkai during the arc and Vegeta did six months of training in the RoST towards the end. Otherwise they should be very comparable in power.
