Dowan (Bum) maybe vaporizing a dumpster

Reality Quest fans are talking crazy so I need to find out the truth of this feat.

Dowan punched this dumpster and idk how to calc this so ask me anything and I'll try to give it to you.

Hello, new to power scaling and can't give the exact measurements but I can give you a BARE MINIMUM estimate. Here is my calculation of the feat of Dowan vs XXX:

First, Dowan is 1.77 meters and 77 KG. Couldn't find the exact measurements of XXX but it is safe to assume XXX is around if not slightly taller than Dowan and probably at least the same weight maybe more considering how buff XXX I, so 80 kg is a safe measurement for his weight.

1. Distance Calculations

Using Dowan's Height (177.8 cm) a reference, the distance that Dowan seemed to punch XXX into the trash can appears to be approximately 4-5 times his height. So a safe estimated would be that Dowan punched XXX 8 meters away.

2. Material Analysis

Looking it up, XXX seemed to be punched into a Public Trash Can in South Korea. Public Trash Cans in South Korea are likely to be made of Galavanized steel. This is because they are fighting in an open area and it looks like the trash can is meant for public use. Galvanized Steel is used for sturdier trash cans that need to endure heavy use and exposure to the elements which would make it make sense for the trash can material.

3. Damage Calculation

Wall Damage: The affected wall area seems to be almost the same length and height as XXX and the depth seems about 10 cm deep due to the multiple layers. So to be on the safe side, we will assume length and width are 1.5 meter and depth is 0.10 meters. So Volume = 1.5 * 1.5 * 0.1 = 0.225 m^3 or 225,000 cc
We assume pulverization takes place to the wall. Then we will use the unit of 214 J/CC (By the VSBW page).

So the Energy (Pulverization) = 225000 cc * 214 J/cc = 48,150,000 Joules

Trash Can Damage: The affected area is going to be a rough estimate but I will also play the area damage safe and say the affected dimensions are 50 cm in length and 30 cm in width. The thickness seems to be 2 cm, we will use that number for the depth of the walls of the trash can. So the volume of damage is (0.5m * 0.3 * 0.02m) and we will multiply it by 2 due to it affecting both sides and assume direct energy transfer, thus total volume = 0.015 m^3= 15,000 cc

Energy (Vaporization) = 15,000 cc * 25,700 J/cc = 385,500,000 Joules.

Dowan Punching XXX (Energy):
To approximate, Dowan's shockwave threw XXX about 7-9 meters so we will estimate 8 meters (This calculation won't affect the total amount a crazy ton). We can use the KE formula to calculate the energy. We will also assume the time that it took for XXX to travel those 8 meters into the trash can is 1 second (most likely lower due to being a fight of superhumans but 1 second to be safe).

Estimated Mass of XXX = 80 Kg. Initial velocity we can calculate using the distance formula so d = v(o) * t - (1/2) * a * t^2 and we need to find v(o). The approximate horizontal deceleration from air resistance is ~0.5 m/s^2. So v(0) = (d + (1/2) * a * t^2) / t = (8 + (1/2) * (0.5) * 1) / 1 = 8.25 m/s.

Therefore the energy of Dowan punching XXX is minimum: KE = (1/2) * Mass * Velocity^2 = (1/2) * (80) * (8.25^2) = 2,722.5 Joules.

Total Damage (With assuming Direct Energy Transfer):
So Total Damage adding up all the energy totals is 48,150,000 + 385,500,000 + 2,722.5 = 433,652,722.5 Joules
Converting:
  • 433.65 MJ
  • 0.104 tons TNT = 1.04×10⁻¹ tons TNT
BARE MINIMUM assuming that it was vaporization and that there was direct energy transfer and no energy was loss due to the damage being caused by a shockwave (which would make the initial impact of the punch a lot higher). This is also assuming that the entire sequence was 1 second (most likely lower due to being a fight of superhumans).

Total Energy (Without assuming Direct Energy Transfer):
Without assuming direct energy transfer, the initial impact would be a lot higher. Common energy loss factors in impacts, especially shockwaves, are Air Resistance (20%-30%), Heat Dissipation (10%-20%), and Sound (5% - 10%). A very conservative estimate would be a 35% energy loss. So the initial impact energy = 433.65 / (1 - 0.35) = 667.15 MJ = 0.159 tons TNT = 1.59×10⁻¹ tons TNT

TLDR: The calculation for the shockwave of this feat of vaporization (assuming) is 433.65 MJ (Middle Small building) assuming direct energy transfer. Since the punch was a shockwave, so we don’t assume direct energy transfer loss, the total impact energy = 667.15 MJ (High End Building). Considering this was a level 3 punch of Dowan’s Charge Shot, level 4 and 5 and be way higher so we can say Dowan is most likely 8C level.

Considering this was a level 3 punch of Dowan’s Charge Shot, level 4 and 5 and be way higher so we can say Dowan is most definitely 8C level.

Trash Can​

Dowan pulverized the trash can until it formed a half-cylinder. I'll be calculating that first. The aftermath of his Charge Shot is vapor, as we can clearly see, so I'll be using the standard pulverization value, which is 25,000 J/cc. He did this through the back as well, so I'll multiply the results by 2.

  • V = 1/2 π r2 h
  • V = 1/2 π 65.912 2.40
  • V = 16307.1622 cm3
  • E = (16307.1622 x 25000) x 2
  • E = 4.07679055e+8 x 2
  • E = 8.1535811e+8 J

Wall​

Dowan also struck the wall, causing it to crack. I’ll assume the depth of the crack is at least 10 cm, as it appears to be quite significant.

  • V = 1/2 × π × 100.56² × 10
  • V = 158678.27 cm3
I'll be using a red brick's violent fragmentation value of 2.81 J/cc since there were no distinguishable pieces.

  • E = 158678.27 x 2.81
  • E = 446,246.29 J

Total Energy​

I'll add the total energy generated by this attack

  • E = 8.1535811e+8 + 446,246.29
  • E = 8.15804356e+8 J (Small Building level+)”
To summarize, the final calculated was 0.195 tons of TNT or around 800 MJ (High End Small Building). Both mine and their calculations predict that Dowans feat was High End Small Building so that seems to be a safe estimate. Furthermore, since this was a 3rd Level Charge Shot and there is a level 4 and 5, it is very safe to assume he has “Likely 8C level” AP.
