Do we accept abilities added from notes?

Like, in a LN, the character mentions that he is using Aikido and then there's a note saying something like this;

Aikido - A japanese martial arts that makes the usage of the opponent's strenght and momentum against themselves

I mean, if it's in the novel, it should be accepted, especially if it's an explanation or something that just clears something up.

You don't need that note at all for scaling anyways. Aikido is a real thing
