Death Stranding General Discussion Thread #1: The First Extinction

The discussion thread for Death Stranding.

So there are already a couple of calcs accepted, one for voidout AP & BT durability, and one for Sam's travel speed.

Character profiles and verse page still need to be created.

After them, there are still the profiles for BTs (we can gather them all in one page with tabs), Cliff, Fragile, and Amelia (She can manifest a planet for demonstration and make it explode!)

As for the tier of Sam... It is either 9-B, 8-B, or High 7-A (large tier gaps, right?).

• 9-B is based on a Sam using guns and having a bunch of 9-B gameplay feats.
• 8-B is based on scaling to BT Catchers who are able to create and sink multiple buildings in their beach.
• High 7-A is based on scaling to Cliff who can create and control a supercell storm outside his beach (a supercell storm has been calc'd to be High 7-A), and it is hard to imagine him being weaker inside it.

I am conflicted about the tier.

Yeah, a couple of mails mention that people have travelled to a beach that is not covered by clouds, and they were amazed by seeing space and the number of stars.

Amelie and the beach she controls is in a higher plane of existance, and she was planning to assimilate hundreds of thousands of beaches (a collection of beaches is said multiple times to form a multiverse). Her mission as the Extinction Entity is to restore balance, not just by destroying all life, but by destroying the universe. So she is at least tier 2.

It should be noted that what an Extinction Entity calls "balance" just means returning everything to the original formless antimatter. Existence wasn't meant to be a thing in the Death Stranding universe. The Beach itself is aware, and it's a hostile malevolent principle of existence that manifests EE's to bring about the Last Stranding and the end of all things.

For the tier, it sounds like City level. There have been a lot of discussion on whether Pocket Reality Manipulation translates to AP, and the conclusion is that the AP is estimated from the pocket reality's size. The size of the game world can be quite inconsistent, for example the smallish lake near Heartman's lab is supposed to represent a voided out city, which is about the size of the Catcher pocket reality.

A 5 kg suitcase nuke isn't realistic, but it can decimate cities with a population of tens of thousands, so around large town.

Sam commented that Cliff wasn't really trying to hurt him (Cliff even forgave Die-Hardman and helped him escape), so he wouldn't scale to him.

Downgraded to 9-B physically, because pocket dimension scaling in Persona and Madoka Magica uses faulty reasoning, and two wrongs don't make a right. So there is that ƒñÀ
