They're childhood friends who have seen all of each other's moves. Kanade even spectates Hibiki's normal karate fights, I think.

I forgot, Melody and Rhythm get weaker if they're worse friends. Their profiles need revising to reflect it, but I'm pretty sure that Hibiki (Melody)'s a bit stronger without Harmony Power.

Maybe. They can maintain decent Harmony Power while arguing, but probably not in a fight to the death.
