Calling all experts on Journey to the west or at least have some idea about it

Hello everyone, as you may or may not know a profile for this character has been created

https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/Sun_Wukong

I was wondering if I could have your input with any information regarding Journey to the west. I myself have actually read/seen the story so perhaps that may help a bit.

There are a few points I'd like to point out.

Firstly Sun was not sealed by a mere Budda, he was sealed by what can be interpreted as the master or the one above the Budda the Fo. It seems a bit arbitrary, but I supposed the distinguishing difference is that within the story there are many 'lesser' Buddas but the number of Fo seem to be rather limited to the single digits at most.

As far as I know, there is no proof that they are of higher dimensions, however they apparently do not exist in the realm called "heaven".

According to the original texts, the Fo and the one that sealed sun didn't actually have a form even though he is often depicted as a Buddha in the moves in order to make it more visually friendly.

They are also apparently without form omniscient and potentially omnipresent but there's no certain proof of omnipresence.

Technically they may be considered of dimensional space as they were not present in heaven which may be interpreted as the universe, when Sun was wrecking Havok. However as with most old works of fiction especially ones written in a different language than English, it would be pretty hard to say that they were defined to be beyond higher dimensions.

Certaintly the original author would have used words such as being able to do anything in other words omnipotence, but there's no telling if that's simply a hyperbole or not. It would be nearly impossible to judge as the Fo don't really have many feats or enemies for that matter.

he was sealed by the first buddha Siddh─ürtha Gautama. The first buddha. The first step to becoming a buddha is having a rainbow body, that makes you semi omnipresence.

Interesting, I suppose a part of the problem is determining how exactly heaven plays into this on whether or not it should be considered part of the sky, universe, or alternate space. Apparently a day on heaven is equivalent to a year on Earth, but that doesn't really make sense and I certainly don't think relativity was involved when they were creating this story lol.

the rainbow body is a level of relization that the individual focuses on the lights that surround the fingers. His or her physical body self-liberates into a nonmaterial body of light (a Sambhogak─üya) with the ability to exist and abide wherever and whenever as pointed by one's compassio

A buddha already passed this elightment already existing "where's one compassion points".

though sun wu kong became a buddha should he be semi onipresent?

semi omipresent refers to omnipresent within a special region or place. That phrase seems a bit vague though.

semi omnipresent is also different from nigh omnipresent which means omnipresent in all places except a particular space

The phrase means to existt where ones whim chooses to in any place or time this is why Siddh─ürtha Gautama

Exists in time's where he should not have been born yet even when heaven was first formed

I take it like modoka (puella magi madoka magica) where she exists in all time.

^ The person you are reffering to though seems to be a real life person.

I also want to point out that despite the mistranslation on Wikipedia, the original sources actually state the name of the person who imprisoned Sun is Ru Lai Fo, who is actually a Fo, which is distinguishable from a Buddha as they are their masters within the context of the story. Sun actually becomes a Fo at the end Fo at the end of the story for his services, but since it's highly specific to the story meaning the word Fo does not exists in religious texts, it's been translated into Buddha to allow a greater comprehension and understanding for those who have not actually read the story.

Sadartha was speculated to be a real person just like Jesus. The scriptures say that he was a prince in what is modern day nepal

^ The problem is that I'm not sure we sure use real religion to interpret a story made by a traveling monk and most likely modified to quite an extent to the fiction we know today.

^that is reasonable but also kinda confusing whem characters refer to stuff that happen not in the story but in the religion. The story is interpreted as something that could of happend in this given mythology and even has one of the mains reach buddhahood and fight many sons of the JADE emeperor.

Here is the thing; if Sun Wukong is written in todays time with today's comic/manga power/techniques terminology his powers would be like these:

-High levels of Regenerationn/healing

-Cross-dimensional travel.

-Deathless, perfectly immortal (100% can't be killed)

-Has high level magic- he can create an army of himself with his hairs, inter-species/objects/structures transformations, full control over his body parts, can see through illusions and disguises, size manipulation, each of his hairs can be transformed into any weapons, humans asnd objects, and clones of himself. Can grow atleast 6 arms and heads to fight multiple enemies. Can cast illusions.

-Massively FTL

-Super martial arts skills.

-Has a Ruyi Jingu Pang as a weapon, which weighs 8-10 tons and can extend its length to the length of a whole galaxy. His staff can also be cloned aswell. It also has its own will, mind and spirit allowing it to fight on it's own and ths staff can not be broken.

Stop bumping ancient threads.

I am the wrong person to ask, and mythology profiles are a controversial subject. It is likely that we will remove them all after the forum migration.
