I found a feat for Brainiac. When another villain is using his power it is mentioned, that he had the energy to destroy half a continent.

Hmm i remember this, it was when a phantom who could absorb radiation was on the loose, when did he absorb braniac's power? Thought he only absorb radiation, i am not remembering it clearly, seems above braniac's normal capabilities though since he is often only a match for clark who had no continent level feats that early on as i am pretty sure this is around season 5 or 6.

The box is indeed Brainiac, Baern isn't able to get enough energy so he absorbs the energy from the box. This is in Season 6.

I don't know it seems a bit vague, it could mean everyone there, just the surface area or it could even be a hyperbole.

I doubt it's Hyperbole considering she knows exactly how strong it is because she helped Jor-El make it.
