People argue that the aura makes the distinction between Base and "Saiyan Beyond God" when Base form aura has pretty much always been a white color, no descernable distinction.
Listen, the U6 tournament with Piccolo is an individual inconsistency, I see no reason to downgrade the rest of the universe 6 fighters out of one outlier, hell Goku himself points out how outclassed Piccolo was anyway, Special beam Cannon was his only saving grace as he can overcharge it to do more damage than any of his other attacks would, and Frost was freshly beaten up.
Trunks is understandable at least, if we were to include that current Goku SSJ2>>>>Goku SSJG (BOG) it would would make sense how Trunks would gain this power considering he held his own against Black Goku for ~1 year and we have no time frame for when Dabura arrived, the only inconsistency in the fight to me was that it seemed Trunks and Goku basically shared the same damage from SSJR Black, other then that I don't see why Trunks can't get an upgrade...
