Alrighty so Maki is a lot more skilled than the Ghast (they literally just act like wild animals) and has her cursed tools which negate durability IIRC. She also has the AP advantage so she should just be able to get up close and rip the thing apart with her polearm.

Even if she doesn't she's basically just fighting a wild animal that flies and shoots fireballs. She has superior AP so dura neg wouldn't really matter anyway. She should take this.

Ghast in this tournament is crazy. Maki slams via sheer skill alone and Ghast only has one, easily dodgeable attack

Maki can just throw her polearm at Ghast, which would wound them considerably. Plus, flying out of the area is kind of a self-BFR.

That seems like a bit of a stretch. SBA states that both characters are motivated to win the fight. Ghast shouldn't have the intelligence to think to snipe from a distance.

Well that's just how it naturally behaves. I haven't played MC in a while but from what I remember they always fly around and shoot you from a distance they never actually approach the player directly while attacking them
