The hunter fights a loser martial artist

10 feet is a large enough distance for the Hunter to raise his gun and shoot his opponent before he could punch him. As far as I know, it's not in character for Dan to start the fight with ki blasts and even if he does use them, they either have absolutely pitiful range, takes longer to throw out than firing a gun, or travel at such slow speed that the Hunter can probably dodge them by sidestepping. The only good ranged attack he has is the Shinku Gadoken except it's a special move that requires him to have a full meter to use.

So how about 6 feet instead?

Dan now being closer has a higher chance of hitting the Hunter with a melee attack before he can shoot. Acrobatics will also allow him to quickly roll towards the Hunter which might catch him off-guard and makes it a bit harder for him to get shot. Pretty much a repeat of Hunter Vs JJJ.

Can I make it 7ft or 8ft Since I don’t want a repeat

Agree with this.

Yeah The Hunter needing to pull a gun to harm Dan while the latter justs needs to punch him (Even more at close range) makes Dan have a good advantage, not only that, but, as mentioned earlier, Dan using his acrobatics to difficult The Hunter of hitting him is also a possibility
