I've calculated a similar feat here. You should measure the moon (or whatever the celestial body that blocked the sun is) and then the distance it moved, both in pixels. Then, you need to get the timeframe of the moon's movement and get the speed (Speed = Distance/Time). After that you can use Kinetic Energy to get the value in Joules.

If it is about the buildings exploding. You can try measuring the height of the buildings. In cases where there aren't reference objects next to them, you can count the windows and multiplying by 4.3, as this is the average height in meters of a storey. And then you can apply the explosion yield formula for ground-based explosions to find the energy in tons of TNT.
