It depends on the verse. There's no hard and fast rule for what is and isn't an outlier

Vzearr
What do you mean "depends on the verse".
CloverDragon03
CloverDragon03
The biggest example I can think of is verses with speed caps. Say that a verse firmly establishes a speed cap of light speed. Now, let's say that a 400x speed upgrade takes them from Relativistic+ to Massively FTL. That would be an outlier because of said speed cap
Vzearr
Vzearr
So if a verse has no speed cap they can range anywhere.
CloverDragon03
CloverDragon03
That’s a factor for sure, but not the only one. For instance, if a verse consistently has Supersonic calcs and then someone on the same level as these Supersonic characters suddenly has a Hypersonic+ calc, I’d likely consider the Hypersonic+ calc an outlier
Vzearr
Vzearr
Soooo, like the black clover verse ?
CloverDragon03
CloverDragon03
I mean Black Clover falls under the first part of what I said. There was a light speed cap for a chunk of it, so I made a revision to reflect that. Afterwards, though, not so much. The characters that scale to much higher ratings are demonstrably far superior
Vzearr
Vzearr
But you just contradicted yourself.

"If a verse consistently has Supersonic calcs and then someone on the same level as these Supersonic characters suddenly has a Hypersonic+ calc, I’d likely consider the Hypersonic+ calc an outlier"

This is literally the same for Black Clover. Verse is consistently light speed/a little faster but then Yuno who isn't 478 of times faster then Nozel gets to be 478x faster then him ?
CloverDragon03
CloverDragon03
“On the same level” is the key part. Final Saga Yuno isn’t on the same level as anyone prior to the final saga, so no, there’s no contradiction
Vzearr
Vzearr
No evidence he's 478x faster. Quite the contradiction in my eyes.
Vzearr
Vzearr
If black clover high tiers constantly use light speed attacks, could Yuno really be 478x faster. Truly a VSBW moment.
CloverDragon03
CloverDragon03
There is no contradiction. This cap of light speed straight up doesn’t exist after the Elf Arc, and there’s no one in prior arcs who have sub-LS scaling or anything of the sort that scales to Final Saga Yuno. Your argument of it being a contradiction is, to put it bluntly, a very weak one.

What verse were you talking about here ?
CloverDragon03
CloverDragon03
None came to mind, I just thought of random speed ratings tbh
Vzearr
Vzearr
Oh well. Would the same basis apply if the verse only has 1 supersonic calc ?
CloverDragon03
CloverDragon03
Depends on where the other calcs end up
Vzearr
Vzearr
below supersonic.
CloverDragon03
CloverDragon03
That doesn't really say much. For instance, the existence of a high-end Subsonic+ calc or a Transonic calc probably wouldn't result in a low-end Supersonic calc being an outlier for instance.

Frankly, this discussion on outliers is far too nuanced for me to even begin to try giving some sort of blanket answer. It really depends on the verse in question, its scaling, and the like.

Vzearr
You're being extremely confusing with your answers to the point you no longer make sense.
