I'm not familiar with the method in the second calculation as of yet, so I wouldn't okay with evaluating it.

You should probably wait for Armorchompy's response for the first calculation.

But cracking isn't as impressive as actually fragmenting the ground, it doesn't shatter to pieces. And the compressed crater is much smaller.

In a compressed area we should use pulv, however frag should be suitable for cracks, shouldn't it?

Not fully certain on that, but your cracks are very small in comparison to the size you're measuring.

Also, I don't agree with that depth either. The compression of the crater and the depth of the cracks have no reason to be the same.
