Ether in particular is the energy substance in the world of Xenoblade that makes up everything in the world, as well as Existence and Non-Existence (Or Material and Immaterial as it's described, even extending to abstract concepts. In the world of Xenoblade their exists something called the Passage of Fate, which is the very concept of Fate, and is the world's causality system, it is also the source of some character's precognition. Since it's made of the energy substance known as Ether, this would be an extension of Alvis.
During the finale of the game, All existing systems were destroyed. Yet Alvis is unaffected by their destruction despite being connected to all three.
