I more didn't want to derail in the sense of preferring not to have several different topics argued at once when the thread's main purpose was "Is Persona 1-C/higher". There's little more to elaborate on than what I said there already and what most people seem to agree with: simply referencing a concept from another verse and/or sharing terminology is not nearly enough to say they operate by the same mechanics. My issue, in particular, is this applies equally to the talk of Jungian psychology especially when there are no actual in-game showings of this being the case.

I'm pretty sure this affects far more than just Persona being 1-C or not so I didn't want to undermine the original topic by arguing over it extensively.

Now I'm sure there are cases where information from the guidebooks can be used, but context matters extensively. Simply mentioning and explaining how Jungian psychology works in a guidebook doesn't mean it just automatically applies to the verse itself, and even if it did, you'd need to prove that "Personas", "Shadows", "Collective Unconscious" and other such terms function the same way in the game as the terms they reference.

Hold on, question, how much have you actually seen of Persona? Because some of these claims are WILDLY out there.

Literally every main title game though I'm not sure exactly what "claims" I'm making that'd require more knowledge than 4 and 5.

All I've missed are the Q's the dancings, EP and the 2nd Arena.

Okay, are you referring to it being 1-A off Plato & Cthulhu and stuff? Because Persona’s, Shadows, and the CU are verbatim what they are in Jung’s works. CU’s dimensionality & 1-A I personally want nothing to do with, but are you saying that those 3 things act differently than the real thing?

I'm referring to everything that comes from treating Edogawa's lecture about Jung's stuff as if he's literally talking about the Personas etc in game.

I'm gonna be out with friends so I won't be able to respond here for a while.

That’s fine.

I disagree though, the CU preforms exactly like what Edogawa mentions, along with Persona’s & Shadows. It transcending space-time is very clearly proven by Enlil. Which I assume is your main contention.
Edwellken
Edwellken
My main contention is it being used at all. The issue is that it's a terrible source.
Milly_Rocking_Bandit
Milly_Rocking_Bandit
Can you provide evidence of it?
Edwellken
Edwellken
Of what?
Milly_Rocking_Bandit
Milly_Rocking_Bandit
Of Edogawa’s explanation not matching up with the source material, in-game.
Edwellken
Edwellken
That's backward. There needs to be proof that it actually does match, not the other way around. If it's so obviously meant to be taken at face value that should be easy to find.

I’m not following in the slightest. I’ve given you multiple examples, in-game, lorewise, all proving that it does.
