That is a interesting theory. I will keep in that in mind when I read the series, might turn out to be true.

And yes, the Series is still ongoing. Webtoon axed its Knight Run translation after the Sion arc, but a group is currently continuing the translations from where we left off. Its on Manga dex, in case you catch up.

Ah thanks for the heads-up. I've been reading on mangasee and they also seem to stop after the Sion arc unfortunately.

How is the other group's translation? The Webtoon one isn't terrible, per se, but it's also not great.

Far better, they have a native korean as a translator and a great proof reader.
Creaturemaster971
Creaturemaster971
Fantastic. Maybe that'll also make some of the mechanics and lore confusions I had clearer as well.

So how far are you? And do you plan to get involved with maintaining Knight Run here? Probably a redundant question, seeing as youre not as active as you used to be
Creaturemaster971
Creaturemaster971
Uh if you want I can definitely help but I am very much inactive at this point.

I pretty much just help support others with their revisions on series I'm familiar with. So I can definitely help out with Knight Run if you need it.

As for where I am, I'm getting towards the end of Sion's Arc.
Haven't progressed a ton since our last talk because I went back to cross-reference my findings with the better translations.

I will say though, Ray vs Van was like,
vastly more hype than I was expecting

Yeah no, thats more than I could ask for to be honest, just good to know that someone has my back with this series ^^"

Yeah that and Sion vs Clint were awesome, especially with both being basically happening at the same time. Just highlights the 2 core aspects of Knight combat; A Clash of power and a clash of Skill

Also how powerful is Leo? I assumed he was on Anne's level when I first skimmed the series back in the day, but it doesn't really seem that way on the reread. Like, he is a Zero Breaker, but he's definitely not nearly on the level of Anne or Dry.

Speaking of, also love how Dry Leonard literally has a power that lets him look into the future and alter reality to force a desired result to happen.
And it's considered less effective than being able to freely use Pray Style.
Plus the fact that you can interpret the wording around the explanation of Violet Waves as an implication that they can potentially produce infinite energy.
On top of the (annoyingly vague) statement that Red Waves are "a cheat that overwhelms everything equally / a cheating trick that overcomes any advantage" and Blue Waves being "an absolute advantage that tops every form of power. Differences in power and speed mean nothing"

Which implies that they're pretty busted

Leo during the Pray War is easily weaker than Anne, but in the later arc Leo should be far stronger than Anne actually. He isnt far off Dry in terms of raw physical power either, but Dry is still the second strongest character physically. Boy gets a massive glowup after the Sion Arc.

It is downright comical how much Dry prepped for his planned rematch with Pray. He learned Mandala just to beat Pray. You might be interessted in the following tidbit then. Spoiler and kinda unconfirmed for me due to it being from the raws,
but Waves mimicing Phenomenon Weapons? Thats meant literal, Waves are basically Phenomenon Weapons themselve. Some of the things I chalked up as flowery language make a ton of sense after that revelation, like how Anne described Waves as being able to change reality itself? That was apperently literal as well.

Which gets even crazier once you understand how Phenomenon Weapons actually work
Mandala too, is basically a Phenomenon Weapon and is the baseline ability of them. Yes all Phenomenon Weapons mess with probability to get their desired outcome. Which is why Mandala and Balisarda sealed each other up during the Dry vs Fear fight. Thats what happens when 2 Phenomenon Weapon clash.

There is soo much mystery and intrigue to Knight Run. So much shit was forshadowed in the Pray Arc already and seeing them resolve in the raws was a amazing feeling
Creaturemaster971
Creaturemaster971
I actually am very unclear on the function of Phenomenon Weapons. They're not just advanced energy-manipulation technology?
Creaturemaster971
Creaturemaster971
Also it's interesting that someone comments on Six Demons One God closely resembling the Holy Sword style that Clint and Sion use.
Creaturemaster971
Creaturemaster971
Oh Jeeeeeeeeeeeeesus Christ this is getting dark

They arent just that yes, they are basically Mandala in weapon form. At least this is how I'm told by everyone I asked.

Based on what lol?

Did you perchance met the Hobo doctor?
Creaturemaster971
Creaturemaster971
Just finished the Sion Arc.
God that was brutal.

Hope it blew your mind as much as it did for me! I personally think the Sion Arc is the best Knight Run arc and one of the best pieces of fiction I have ever read period
Creaturemaster971
Creaturemaster971
Yeah it was incredible but god I was actually emotionally drained by the end
First_Witch
First_Witch
Emotional is the bare minimum hahahah. I shed tears when the hobo doctor revealed who he was.

Heroism has never been this gut wrenching

I'm curious to see how things go from here though. Especially in terms of scale.
I'm assuming even by the end Pray is gonna be the strongest, but these guys also seem like they're almost on her level.
Plus I wanna see what the deal is with Fear.
Honestly for a sec I thought Chatterbox was Fear having come back without her mask.
First_Witch
First_Witch
Pray is up there through Skill and waves. Dry even before he attained Mandala was stronger than her. We will meet a ton of characters physically stronger than Pray later on, a couple of Cold Heroes and such. Personally, I think Dry surpasses Pray around the Door arc, which is 2 arcs from now on. We know of another character that genuinly scares the shit out of Pray AND Dry (We as in, the raw gang).

The fandom might disagree with me, but I think Sion has a really good shot at killing Pray in a straight duel.

This might shock you, but Fear still didnt make a comeback even in the raws. She does re-appear though and if you want, I can give you a hint when.

Apropo Chatterbox, I dont know if you saw it already, but there was a humorous mini chapter about how Chatterbox and the rest of her ilk came to be. Pray cant be a good mother even if her goddamn life depended on it lmao
