While it sounds interesting. I'd need to know more about the mechanics at first. Is it just like a normal versus matchup? Is it trying to compare their most skilled feats in a fist-fight setting? What's the actual method of combat, just saying one punches the other to knock them out, or are we comparing skill?

comparing skill and just that.
Since it's focused on non-kill combat, swordsmen or long ranged fellas will be given tremendously nerfed weaponry
KO/incap in general or taking the opponent out of the arena are the only acceptable wincons

I think that's gonna be far, far harder to measure than aura. Do you have anything in mind that'd be used to measure 'skill'?

It should actually go in a quite similar manner, because all we'll have to try measuring skill are feats!

People will debate on who moves first and what are the moves and counters each other will think about and perform :>

So it's just like the aurafarming tournament but with skills.

My only question is say... two characters as an example, Fu Hua, a 50,000 year old skilled martial artist, and IDK, Batman, he just came to mind.
Both should be able to reasonably react to everything that the other does, and they have equalised stamina, speed, etc.

How does one break this stalemate?

Both sides will have to argument about counter-developing-up-in-the-fly for each side, in this type of case (which i'm fairly sure will happen in basically all matches that include Goku lol)

I think in this specific case Batman should take it if there's someone good argumenting by his side, by virtue of how many times he's displayed to be able to counter stuff from great martial artists throught tens of comics. Not saying that HSR is a short story, just that Batman would have more displays of this type of thing
Though this could be countered as well by someone showcasing Fu Hua knowing more types of martial arts, knows some forgotten martial arts, developed their own and it has been displayed to work greatly against other hugely skilled fellas, etc

Long story short, can be much like aurafarming league, indeed, where "having what to show" and "being a good representer of your character" are s* that matters A LOT

Fu Hua (Hi3rd) has a few feats, not as expansive as Batman, Durandal is also experienced in Martial Arts, so it doesn't seem like something I'd focus on because Hi3rd doesn't really touch on that stuff in depth.

Top contenders in my eyes:

• Batman, needs no explanation.
• Goku, needs no explanation.
• Garou, needs no explanation if you know enough about OPM.
• Yoda, mastered all 7 forms of lightsaber combat and can potentially be seen as the GOAT in Star Wars.
• Anakin Skywalker, mastered various forms of Lightsaber combat and adapted these forms to fit in his new suit.
• Iron Fist
• Val Armorr

There's probably some insane web novel or manhwa somewhere that'll come and sweep this tournament though LOL

i'd put money that there are like 4 characters whose debate will be huge, 3 of them will be due to feats and 1 because the representer is @DaReaperMan level of nerd about them, and the rest will be fodderized

I'll be paying attention to the tourney, wouldn't mind helping to judge either if it's needed.
