The Earth isn’t getting more massive from the Moon. The machine which drops at 3:33 adds mass to the Earth to make it more similar to the planet the aliens came from, which was bigger. I calculated how massive the Earth would need to be to make the Moon break like we see at 4:23 (the linked time).

EDIT: I changed all the YT links in the blog to the ones with timestamps.
