Silencing a QnA thread?

Also how many pages (houses) have you made for Marvel, or how many revisions have you done for the verse?
The_Impress
The_Impress
And in general like, this would be me literally putting a sign in front of the town square "this house is gonna get destroyed, please talk to the council if you disagree" and the council is seated right on the table next to the sign, for an year, and all you did was jerk off in your apartment

You SERIOUSLY are telling me this is somehow my fault that you didn't join the thread for a ******* month?
The_Smashor
The_Smashor
None, and I don't think I should be expected to since I've only read a single Marvel comic in my life (One about Captain America being trapped in the internet if I recall correctly).

And, frankly, I don't think you need to have built the house you lived in to be upset it gets torn down. A note at the bottom of the page would more than suffice for the characters' casual ends, and it also wouldn't give the appearance that we're downplaying Marvel more than we already are.

I actually mentioned that last bit in the thread, but you seem to have been too busy not listening to anyone to have noticed.
The_Impress
The_Impress
So like, one with Machinesmith?

A note is something I was already doing??? Have you literally read the new CRT?
The_Impress
The_Impress
Also read more comics smhsmhsmh
DaReaperMan

Should I make a feat gathering thread? Because I don't feel like this is getting resolved otherwise.
The_Impress
The_Impress
I think after my CRT, because I need to complete the note first
DaReaperMan
DaReaperMan
Alright, I'll sandbox it and send it to you via conversation until then.

Also, I would like to note that I was not referring to Island level Heralds when I was making that reference to Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I was referring to the swiftness in which you closed the discussion. If you close a thread with no warning, people will be silenced, even if you didn't intend to do so.

Also, the way in which you addressed those in the discussion just before closing was extremely unprofessional for someone of your position. Not to mention, the whole "Well you should have been on the CRT", while not necessarily inaccurate, was extremely condescending.
The_Impress
The_Impress
Closed which discussion? The QnA thread? It's not a discussion, it's a question. Question was answered. You decided to turn it INTO a discussion, which, you can make a separate thread for, and one where I am not forced to input out of my staff obligation. Is this tough to understand?

I don't have to force professionalism because I don't get paid, this is volunteer-work. I try to be nice, but when your group's instincts are "haha supporters dumb", provide fuckall scans and proofing, complain instead of making improvements, you're not actually being the peak of professionalism, are you? In these scenarios very justifiably I think I can be annoyed.

In general I can tell you have nothing to lose, you by your admissal don't read the comics, your one revision for comics was one anyone could've made for hearsay, and in general I feel like you operate solely on that hearsay, and stuff which doesn't match your forced view of Marvel scaling from a vs. debating wanker's perspective, is suddenly foreign to you. Yeah well, I do read the *******, thousands of them, have the well researched pagecount to prove. If I can legitimately make them tier 1 haxlords to stomp *******, I will the very first moment I'm able to.

I don't think for a fraction of a second I am wrong in stating my dejection with the community over this, and demanding people to be patient and y'know, HELP instead of complain, people have successfully made upgrades before, hell I upgraded Pym to tier 1 and plan to upgrade Doom and Reed similarly, and I even think tier 3/2 Thor and Hulk are very easily doable with the systems I have put forth. Could I be nicer? Yes, but so can you. Me being a volunteer-worker will only put the idea of you all treating staff like shit in a worse light.
The_Smashor
The_Smashor
Even if you are a volunteer worker, you're still staff. You're supposed to set a good example for the rest of us. You think people were saying "Hurr durr staff bad" or whatever? Well you swearing at them, belittling them and then instantly closing the thread dosn't really help disprove that image, now does it?

Even if it was a QnA thread, there was still a discussion happening. And thanks to what you said before closing it, what you did came off less as closing a derailed thread and more as lashing out.

You're basically telling the masses "Oh, you haven't read 80 years of comic books, and as such aren't confident when it comes to taking on a system that basically makes who scales to who and what an outlier is whatever the staff says it is, and still have the gall to question the stats? What a ******* moron."

It might be easy to forget sometimes, and pardon my French, but Marvel is a really god damn intimidating verse. Quite possibly the single most intimidating verse on the entire wiki. Even DC has the Crisis on Infinite Earths making it so that nobody really cares about any comics before 1985 in a versus context with the exception of a small number of characters, and also basically just has street tiers and heralds. Marvel, on top of having almost no cosmic retcons that matter in a versus context, also has several levels between Street and Herald.

I signed on to be a staff member, not a babysitter. You were all being toxic and claiming rest of the supporters as "biased" or "idiots", I try to respond to Malmotek objectively, you all just keep jumping on me with nonsensical claims. I close the thread. Objectively speaking I did my staff duties just fine. I am sorry I didn't do it the nicest way, but it's still done.

There was an unnecessary discussion happening that had users yelling insults, so I closed it. Again.

And I mean, yes. I don't walk up to say, a TES thread, going off of the game summary alone, and try to claim "yesyes Dragonborn is tier 8 max". You weren't discussing a surface level problem, you're arguing consistency. Consistency is something you need to read the damn things for lol.

Actually funnily enough reboots make DC ratings worse, not all characters go thriugh them, leading to hodge podge, and honestly it's not a fraction as intimidating a verse. I can even help you get started if you'd like.
The_Impress
The_Impress
So are you taking me up on my offer for helping you get started on the comics orrrr?

Could you two knock it off?
The_Smashor
The_Smashor
Yeah, that was kinda what I was doing before. You know, walking away, being the bigger man.

And hey, me being an asshole dumbass is a bit more acceptable than actual staff doing so.
DaReaperMan
DaReaperMan
I know, but it's better to clarify in my opinion.
