I'm also planning some DW downgrades. I'll see them, and maybe we can collab if they're compatible.

Edit: I should mention that it's not all downgrades. There's also some general revisions for the Cybermen, Sontarans, etc.

I'm still writing up the Drafts but tldr:

The Doctor

Attack Potency

Basically the Doctor shouldn't be 9-A; it's via scaling to three durability feats with issues
At best they should be 9-B scaling from the third dura feat and other, more straight forward feats such as:
Adding to this, the Cybermen are mostly shown as being > Time Lords and they just have 9-B feats.

Speed

Basically FTL+ is Hoopla; it's one instance of FTL reaction times for a Doctor who we don't get a concrete incarnation for and breaks the scale of the series, I'm fairly confident their feats (based off the show anyway) don't even reach that level.

Hax

The Doctor currently is a composite of all the incarnations and I'm unsure if this is accurate for a few reasons
  • They all have varying feats
    • The First Doctor is treated as being a lot less physically capable as his younger selves
    • Tom Baker's Doctor has much worse prep feats then his 11th incarnation
    • The best feats mostly come from the 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors
  • They all have very different mindsets
    • The War and Third Doctors are much more comfortable with violence
    • Ruth is also much quicker to combat
    • The Fourth Doctor is much less likely to save his enemies compared to the 10th
    • The 12th Doctor outright leaves someone to die in his first series
    • The 7th Doctor is known for manipulating his opponents; often playing everyone in the story like a chess piece, including his own companions (Ace)
I also believe that the Sonic goes through several iterations
  • The orignal was made by 3 before being destroyed during the Fifth Doctor's tenure
  • The next was shown in the TV Movie and seemingly was used by War
  • The next version was shared by Nine and 10
  • 11th hour saw it break and the TARDIS constructed a new version
  • 12 has his own version
  • 13 made a new version out of Sheffield steel
So not all the Sonics are the same, meaning we shouldn't be assuming they all do the same stuff and the Doctor went through a sizeable period of decades without having it (1963 - 1970 and 1982 - 1995) which covers several Doctors.

There's other stuff with Daleks and the Master but neither nor there

Seems mostly ok.

Autons (whom I'm also planning to revise later) have some good physicals, but they're also portrayed as being comparable to plastic in durability. In the TV story itself, they're glass cannons that can overpower The Doctor.

Cybermen actually have 9-A weaponry, but they're always shown to be massive glass cannons. The only ones that would physically scale are from the Tiberian Cyber-Wars, and that's via upgrades.

Should we separate The Doctor's profiles, or just make keys? Another problem that arises is The Doctor's inconsistent strength and durability within his own incarnations.

Btw, The Doctor's resistance to plot manip is bs. The Land of Fiction was damaged by radiation.

I'd also like to hear about those because, as you may remember, I'm doing a revision on the Daleks. I've read all the stories and collected every feat I can, it's now just a matter of adding them.

On this note, I'm thinking of giving The Doctor and Master's TARDISes some keys. They only got to that level after tons of upgrades that set them astronomically above standard models.

Ah I see, that would make it hard to actually scale the Doc to them

I remember that the Cybusmen have Dalek scaling with their weapons but I can't recall any other instances of this.
I was mostly using the point to talk about physical stats tho

The Doctor
I honestly feel profiles at this point would be good, keys would require the page to be bloated beyond belief and the characters being distinct enough (and being marketed as separate characters) seems to be a good reason for profiles over just keys.

We could probably follow suit with the Master but that gets pretty foggy when you get to the fact that Pratt, Beevers Ainley, Tipple and Roberts are technically all the same Master, just innhabiting different bodies. We could probably have the "Crispy Master" as one key and just count the other notable bodies (such as Bruce or Ainley) but I feel separate profiles because of their actors and personalities would be more appropriate. Dhawan, Delgado, Simm and the others would be fairly straight forward tho.

Keys for the TARDIS' would be fairly good, the Master goes through a few and the Doctor upgrades his TARDIS twice to my knowledge
