Lookism Discussion Thread

1. Who even is cloudy?

2. The feint and counter crt hasn't even been completed for it to be implemented so I'd recommend you to wait for it if you're mentioning those points in ur crt.
1. I meant windy your friend lol sorry :3
Cloud.. wind.. same difference right?😭 (/j)

2. Fair enough

I don't know what they argued about regarding Suhyeon being in Class 100, but I just want to leave this thread aside.

What about this one? This one is also kinda done by air pressure since the distance between wall and samurai is kinda big, so Elite's kick hitting the wall wouldn't make sense

Who would have thought that Lookism's new meta would be range. Goodbye LS meta.

That wasn't me bringing LS, it was to make a point that B level characters are above athletic human.
I mean, yeah, we can say that Level Bs aren't just weaklings (though literally one level below that are ordinary people). It still doesn't make much sense that we have a gap between Peak Human and Class 100 in so few levels. We know the gap is inhumanly high, man. Just compare a gorilla to an Olympic athlete and you'll see the gap. Imagine what it would be like with a person weighing 100 metric tons. Like if we saw Suhyeon compressing people weaker than him with his grips, or later saw Haru or Gukja carrying the equivalent of tanks—are we seriously supposed to believe that's the author's intention?
The example being striking strength doesn't change a thing.
It does, according to wiki standards, yes.
The point is that STAT GAPS are immensely large even inside the same tier and even bigger between tiers. We can count on Late Questism for this as it's the closest thing to the end, which is where the Author has more of an understanding of his story & intent for the system/stats.
Yeah, but I think it's obvious we can't just grab any achievement and assume it's legitimately consistent just because "The gap is very high," bro. We KNOW very well when a gap is TOO high, but it's not THAT high. Just divide the Peak Human baseline by the Class 100 baseline and you'll understand better.

If it helps, Hajun who had S+ strength stats wasn’t able to budge Suhyeon who’s canonically only 344 lbs (Chapter 9). So a LS jump from 344 lbs at S+ to Class 100 with SS is wild

Even more inconsistent is the idea that Suhyeon later couldn't use the same technique against a random member of East Gangbuk because he "weighed more than him," despite the fact that this random member was only a B-level fighter.

I think Questism's "Strength" stat simply doesn't really encompass everything involved. It seems to be more consistent with AP than LS.

I have a quick question. Since that CRT already has quite a lot of comments, I figured I'd ask here instead.

Does having a Path automatically mean that a character has already reached the Transcendent/Mastery level in terms of potential?

The reason I'm asking is that Johan is shown to have no Masteries at all—only a Path. However, his status window identifies him as Transcendent. If that's the case, then it would mean Daniel Park still hadn't obtained a Path by the end of Questism. In turn, that would imply that the ending of Questism still takes place before the Incheon Arc of Lookism. If so, several characters could scale in speed to Daniel Park, who is stronger than Daniel (Questism) at that point, making speed scaling much easier.

Hey, blogs like this don’t require prior approval at a CRT? I say this because I really want to have it on the verse page, since it’s a very well-made blog, but I don’t know if we can implement it without a prior review.

Oooh this blog is VERY good I am in support for adding it

Also minor note for James and Seongji I always assumed in their case its because their talent actually matched their potential

While in the case of Daniel and Johan, their talent (while obviously ginormous) is far smaller compared to their potential

From what I have seen from rereading multiple times, there seems to be an inverse correlation between potential and talent where the ratio between talent and potential grows larger as potential grows larger so someone like Kenta his talent and potential are pretty even, while someone like Zack his potential exceeds his talent and for someone like Daniel and Johan their potential dwarfs their talent

For James and Seongji I don't think this is an indication of them having lower potential but rather the opposite, they seem to have absurd talent that can actually match their own potential

Guys if anyone's interested in this Reality Quest crt, opinions and inputs would be appreciated.

Very soon I will finish university so I will have enough time to finish indexing information on some profiles that I started

Path is stated to be very different from Mastery by iirc Paecheon.
Transcendance translates to Mastery.

Using Daniel doesn't make speed scaling easier, because Daniel doesn't scale to anyone with CQC. You can already scale Gen 2 with HFBD Johan.

The concepts of "Mastery" that appear in Questism are different from those that appear in Lookism, it is not the same awakening. In addition to themselves, Mastery and Path are distinct concepts.

Mastery in Questism is js a mistranslation for transcended.

So before I start working on my CRT, what is the community consesus on using questism attack multipliers to establish a consistent PTJ multiplier meta for the signature moves? Or would all of them get rejected due to having no clear multiplier statements?

What questism attack multipliers?

What questism attack multipliers?
Daniel(queatism)'s card hits an opponent with 2x their AP + dura neg + buffs removal
Yageyom has an attack that multiplies his low kicks AP by 3x
Gukja has an attack that multiplies his opponent's AP
Hajun has a double hit hard though I am not sure this would count as a 2x multiplier (I don't think so?)

Say what you will about questism's writing quality but the multipliers are EXTREMELY consistent

My plan was to use that as a precedent for some 2T signature moves to have a 2x AP multiplier (Taesoo's ultimate punch, 2T death kick/hand) 2x AP and speed (Jageyon's counter, Gongseob OSOK), 3x AP (death hand/kick)

And any other signature moves that qualify though they don't have any multiplier statements outside of Jageyon's counter so I am not sure if they would qualify and it might become a slippery slope so depending on what you guys weigh in, I might scrap the idea

For the Daniel Card and Yagyeom one, both mention an increase in damage, not AP. Increase damage doesn't equate to same proportional increase in AP, plus the Terabyte Low Kick was already rejected here.

Gukja's is viable, it's a straight up statement saying "strike back with an attack twice as strong" so it's a 2x AP. Also, Hajun's isn't a 2x multiplier, hitting twice doesn't mean 2x AP in any instance.

Unless you can equate the unique skills through statements or direct showings, it wouldn't work to just give them 2x multipliers unless they have their own individual statement backing them up. Also, DH, DK, and OVT already have 3x AP multipliers, it was a part of the Kishen thread.

I am aware of that CRT though can you link me a CRT explaining the difference between AP and damage? Since 2x and 3x attacks in questism are pretty much always a guranteed one shot

Ik that's why I said was in past tense lol
(Imo Jageyon's counter should go from 3x AP to 2x AP 2x speed to be more consistent with DK being a 3x AP, since we literally saw Pacheon get hit by both attacks and Jageyon's OVT barely did anything while his death kick nearly killed him)

The staff member does mention another CRT in there, couldn't really find it, but I did understand what he meant. So, the main difference why increase in damage and increase in AP are not the same is that Attack Potency measures an attacker's actual energy/force output, while "damage" describes an outcome that can be influenced by mechanics separate from raw power, so a stated damage increase doesn't automatically equal an equivalent AP increase. An example is piercing/cutting damage on the wiki: a bullet or blade doesn't need higher AP than a blunt attack to cause more destruction, since concentrating the same force into a small area bypasses conventional durability rather than requiring more raw output (That's why we don't reduce a 8-B's character to 9-B/C (Bullet levels) if it's shown a bullet can pierce them). Daniel's and Yugyeom's cards work similar usually mentioning ignoring defense and boosting critical damage showing the bypass method. Also, these kinds of game-mechanic-styles modifiers are usually warned about from the wiki since crit multipliers in game-like systems don't necessarily translate to real in-story power increases. One-shotting a target with any of these cards also isn't proof of the exact multiplier, since a one-shot only shows the attack cleared the target's durability threshold, not how far past it the attack landed. Especially with many series not really having a standard "one-shot" value. Though the site does usually define "one-shots" in matches with 8x AP-to-Durability differences, they don't accept it for viability of multipliers. Though it could be used for a 1.2x upscale if they're 1.2x far from the next tier.

Well, technically, OVT only has a statement of "The Impact from the counterattack, which will be stronger many times over", with stronger being the word for the stat effected. So only viable for the AP increase that it was given. I could explain it, but its pretty standard throughout the wiki for these kinds of strength increase statements to only apply for AP.

I see, so how do you prove that an attack actually has boosted AP instead of concentrated damage or dura neg? (Genuine question)

For Daniel(Questism) fair enough I get it, his abbility is a dura neg so it makes sense

However for Yugyeom, he fought a character called Ryu, Yugyeom the time Yugyeom had SS+ strenght and durability, compared to Ryu who had SSR strenght and durability (a 3 tier difference) and we see that Ryu was able to one shot Yugyeom with a casual kick to the stomach knocking him unconscious, we also see that Jiheon Lee a character with SSS+ strenght (1 tier higher than Yugyeom) was unable to deal ANY damage to Ryu after landing a clean unguarded hit to his head with Syheon remarking that he looks completely unfazed by it, yet prior to that Yugyeom attempting to use his 3x abbility with his lower SS+ was enough to not only make Ryu dodge his attack but remark not ONCE not TWICE but THREE times that Yugyeom's attacks were dangerous, that they would have hurt etc, despite the 3 tier stat differences in durability and strenght and Ryu being able to one shot Yugyeom otherwise

The reason why I am asking this is because in this case Yugyeom was blatantly able to close a 3 tier one shot gap using his 3x move, his low kick doesn't have dura negation like Daniel's abbility, and to my knowledge its never stated to concentrate his energy or target a weak point, its only stated to amplify his damage 3x fold, and we have seen that someone a tier stronger than Yugyeom AP wise could not even damage Ryu while landing a clean unguarded hit to his head

Something to note is that we see in ep 119 Gukja in his inner monologue state that his opponent's kicks are too fast for him to react to (for comparison Gukja has SR speed and his opponent had SR+ speed not even half a tier difference) as well as his opponent mocking him and wondering how someone so weak could become no.2 despite the difference between their strength being half a tier (SSS+ and SR), Gukja's strenght and speed then proceeded to increase to SSR+ and he one shot TWO opponents with SR/SR+, the gap between SSS+ and SR is large enough for an opponent to completely write you off as a weakling and for you to be unable to react to them, and the gap between SR and SSR is large enough for you to blizts and one/two shot TWO opponents with SR stats all around with basically 0 difficulty as one of them stated in his inner monologue that they stood no chance and that he was on a different level compared to them

And yet Yugyeom with SS+ stats or lower using his 3x low kick was enough to make Ryu with SSR durability/endurance dodge out of the way of the attack and compliment it and remark how strong it is 3 times in a row

We also see that the first time Yugyeom used the move he one shot his opponent, knocked him unconscious, broke his leg, and flipped his entire body upside down in the air from the force of the kick

I am not physicist but I am 90% sure hitting a weak spot or concentrating your attack on a single point wouldn't send your opponent flying and completly ragdoll them

In this case would that be enough to justify a multiplier stat amp? As there is unrionically at least a 2 one shot tier difference between SS and SSR stats and speed wise, yet Yugeom was able to close that massive gap using his abbility, when Jiheon who's AP is blatantly 1 tier higher compared to Yugeom's base stats couldn't even damage Ryu with a clean unguarded hit to the head. Apart from the usage of damage in the description I don't think there is anything else indicating that the low kick is a damage amp rather than an AP amp, as we are blatantly shown multiple times it's able to cross MASSIVE stat gaps

So we have the
-description of the abbility stating it's a 3x amp (granted it states damage not AP)
-was able to close a MASSIVE stat gap of at least 2 one shot tiers
-the abbility itself was stated to be dangerous and that it would hurt by someone who's AP is a one shot tier above compared to the user of the ability yet they still chose to dodge it
-we have blatantly seen that characters who's AP is 1 tiet higher compared to the user couldn't even daamge Ryu with an unguarded strike to the head
-the abbility functions and is treated the exact same way as an abbility that would qualify as a multiplier inverse (Gukja's abbility pretty much works the same way the only difference is the description)

Something else to note is that all Abbilities with a 2x or above in questism have a pop up windows that says '2x' in a orange/red font I forgot if there was any othet text, this included Gukja's abbility which you said would qualify as a multiplier based on its description, but Gukja, Yugyeom and Daniel's Abbilities are all treated the same way by the system UI and no distinction is made so would Gukja's multiplier also get discarded?

Images:

Daniel and Yugeom have the 2/3x pop up, Daniel has no critical hit pop up, Yugeom has a crtical hit pop up, Gukja has the critical hit but not the 2x pop up, though I'd chalk that up to the chapter being rushed as a bunch of Syheon's stats were wrong in the raw of the chapter and we cannocially never saw what Gukja's 4th ascension card did because the author seemingly forgot about it😭🙏

If I remember correctly it has a statement saying that his OVT amplifies the speed but no statement indicating a number so fair enough

Closing a stat-tier gap is threshold evidence (the attack was "enough"), not proportional evidence of an exact 3x AP increase, since tiers aren't fixed numeric values with known gaps. The Jiheon comparison doesn't isolate AP as the cause, since the card's "amplify damage" wording leaves room for an unspecified non-AP mechanic (debuff, execute-effect, etc.) doing the work instead, very common to other game mechanics. For the UI pop-up, the wiki scales off each card's actual text, and Yugyeom's "critical damage" framing differs meaningfully from Gukja's direct "twice as strong" statement regardless of matching UI. Though I will note, this could be argued and more of staff opinion tbh. Though I'd still be against it due to the explicit difference in statements ("twice as strong" vs "3x critical damage"). Well, don't want to continue much more of this dialogue, who knows, maybe site standards have changed. In the end, while I'd still be against the multiplier, staff opinions may override it.

Fair enough thank you for answering my questions and sorry if I bothered you :3

Gapryong Kim has finally moved beyond the "One Punch Man" and demonstrated greater genuine skill. While he had already shown some ability during the fight against Elite, his performance against Kenzo represents an incomparable improvement. Furthermore, it appears that AD is confirmed for Conviction, along with perhaps Duraneg or Pain Induction.

Good chapter ngl. Kenzo might go TUI or have some other power-ups in the next chapter.

Or maybe who knows, Gap could punch Kenzo out of UI like how Jake punched Gun out of UI for a second in HFG.

To be honest, I hadn't thought about it, but it makes sense for Kenzo to get some kind of power-up so he doesn't get thrashed by Gapryong so quickly—even though we know who will eventually win.

Now I'm curious: does this version of Gap scale to 2.22 tons, or should we consider him to be at 6.05?

Should be the 2.22 tons, we classified the 6.05 as with path now.

I just finished the new chapter is this the greatest Gun downscale of all time

Or the greatest Yuseong upscale of all time?
