1/2 FINALS|DANTE SPARDA VS DOOMSLAYER

Obliterated Mundus soo utterly he vanished into the void.

Put an end to Mundus with a jackpot.

Comforts Trish by saying that tears are a gift only humans possess.

Piloting a plane through a collapsing Island.

Gives a new title "Devils Never Cry" to his shop and starts running it with a new badass chick on his side.

Backstory of Doomguy AKA Flynn Taggart.

In DOOM TDA, we came to know that the Slayer isn't just a Slayer, but also a human, one with empathy.

As a marine, a part of some sort of special forces unit, he was doing secret missions, as a one man army, as a human.
So even then, he was already fighting for the good of mankind.

We also found out the name of the Doomslayer is Flynn Taggart.

"Request for Summary Court-Martial

Date: 02 FEB 2044

Reporting Oficer: Lt. Joshua Weems

Accused: Cpl. Flynn Taggart

Summary of Charges: Failure to Report

Discipline Suggested: Flogging (Public)

Incident Report: Fox Company was instructed to attend a mission briefing at 1300 hours in preparation for a time sensitive operation involving the destruction of an insurgent SAM site. Cpl. Taggart was not present at the appointed time. When Cpl. Taggart did arrive at the briefing, more than an hour late, I observed that his battle

dress was tattered and muddy.

When I summoned Cpl. Taggart to the podium to answer for his tardiness, he informed me that the mission I was briefing the men to undertake was "done," and then exited the operations room without leave.

While the men did laugh, I take these insubordinate displays extremely seriously. I would hate to inform my father that my military career is being impeded by a defiant grunt.

Lieutenant Joshua Weems

--

Judgement:

Lt. Weems, I am reluctantly approving your request for a summary court-martial but please understand that I do so with the expectation that you make a concerted effort to improve your working relationship with Cpl. Taggart moving forward. He's a good soldier with an outstanding service

record.

Colonel J. Mercer"

Bro showed up over an hour late, covered in mud, only to inform his superior that the mission they were about to discuss was already finished.
He completed an entire time-sensitive operation by himself before the briefing even began, refused to elaborate, and walked back out.

They tried to report him for soloing their mission even, being the cause of having absolutely no casualties, as he solod a team based mission.

"Request for Special Court-Martial

Date: 29 MAY 2045

Reporting Oficer: Lt. Joshua Weems

Accused: Cpl. Flynn Taggart

Summary of Charges: Desertion

Discipline Suggested: Dishonorable

Discharge & Chemical Indoctrination

Incident Report: At 0530 hours a sentry observed Cpl. Taggart approaching the main gate of Fort Elliott. His return to base was a surprise to me as I gave him no authorization to leave in the first place. When searched, Cpl. Taggart was found to be in possession of

insurgent contraband and several service weapons stolen from the armory. As a result of Cpl. Taggart's reckless actions, the mission attached to my scheduled press coverage could no longer proceed as planned. My father is furious and demands that this injustice be swiftly and decisively resolved.

Lieutenant Joshua Weems

---

Judgement:

Lt. Weems, I am denying your request for a special court-martial. As we're both aware,

the "insurgent contraband" turned over by Cpl. Taggart is an enemy encryption device

that he seized on his own initiative. Review of the device by your father's department

made clear that the mission in question predicated on faulty intelligence. I'll admit that Cpl. Taggart's afinity for improvisation and self-reliance is considerable even for a MARSOC operative, but what he did today averted a major military catastrophe and undoubtedly saved lives.

Colonel J. Mercer"

Flynn abandoned base, stole weapons and infiltrated enemy territory on his own initiative, only to return carrying the encryption device that exposed the entire operation as a disaster waiting to happen.

They tried to charge him with desertion for disobeying orders that would have gotten people killed.

He broke every rule in the book, just to not have any extra casualties showing the goodness in his heart, the same goodness he shows through every single game, becoming more furious with every single death of an innocent bystander.

"Correspondence between Wesley Weems & Colonel J. Mercer:

John,

The department has reviewed your report on the City Central Memorial Hospital

explosion and made the following corrections. Please ensure that these updates are made before this document is submitted to the court. Included you will also find the psychological evaluation administered under my supervision, providing further reasoning for off-world internment.

Wesley Weems, Director

Department of Military Intelligence

Request for General Court-Martial

Date: 17 JAN 2046

Reporting Officer: Colonel J. Mercer

Accused: Lieutenant Joshua Weems

Corporal Flynn Taggart

Summary of Charges: Negligent Homicide

Assault on a Superior Officer

Discipline Suggested: Indefinite Internment

(Phobos Consolidated Brig)

Incident Report: At 1430 hours an intelligence report detailing the Insurgent occupation of City Central Memorial Hospital was delivered to Lt. Weems. This report indicated that a civilian element had been observed barricaded inside of patient

and staf rooms. Lt. Weems failed proceeded to review and relay this intelligence to Cpl. Taggart who, without prior knowledge of with reckless disregard for the civilian presence, detonated the Insurgent weapons cache resulting in the destruction of the target building.

Current reporting puts the civilian death toll at 12, but a sharp increase in local missing persons indicate that the true number is probably higher. It's my view that Lt. Weems has a history of gross incompetence and should be relieved of duty with immediate effect. After returning from the mission Cpl. Taggart struck Lt. Weems without provocation, causing moderate injury and severely undermining the chain of command.

Colonel J. Mercer

Psychological Evaluation Report: Cpl.

Taggart

Date: 22 JAN 2046

Reporting Oficer: Lt. Tosia

Subject: Corporal Flynn Taggart

Per MARSOC procedure, psychological evaluation administered by DMI on 2046-01-

21 following post-mission confinement. Subject displayed severe indicators of combat-related PTSD and survivor's guilt associated with recent operational losses. Observed symptoms included persistent agitation, emotional withdrawal, and intermittent hostility during questioning. Subject demonstrated poor responsiveness to sedation and standard evaluation procedures. Per his demand, canine-assisted behavioral therapy was suspended in favor of a domestic rabbit previously assigned during confinement protocols. Noticeable stabilization in subject demeanor was subsequently observed. Additional evaluation recommended before subject is cleared for active-duty reassignment. Continued supervised therapy strongly advised."

After faulty intelligence led to civilians being killed, the people responsible tried to alter the report, shift the blame onto Flynn and have him permanently sent off-world.
Flynn’s answer was to put the officer responsible in the hospital.
Even while suffering from PTSD, survivor’s guilt and resisting their sedatives, the only thing capable of calming him was a rabbit called Daisy, most likely the girl that passed away, and was renamed as such to be his mental health support pet.

A man violent enough to assault his commanding officer over innocent lives, yet gentle enough that a small animal could still reach him.

And after these events, the Demons would go on to kill his pet bunny Daisy, for him to turn into the original John Wick, instead being John DOOM.
The Demons would come to find out that what they had just done, they would carry the consequences for, for all of eternity.

As the Slayer never forgives, and never forgets.

A blood debt that needs to be filled, every single one of them is responsible and thus their entire species needs to be wiped out from existence itself.

Here's him, as a human marine, before he became a god, or became known as Doomguy or the Slayer.
Gets sent solo on a mission, against an entire army

We see the Slayer confessionals in action, by the man, the myth, the legend himself.

Goes in, wipes out multiple units of terrorists / soldiers

"Is the site empty"

We end up hearing the Doomslayers voice, which is incredibly rare and of course he has the most chad deep sounding voice as you'd expect.

Blows up a car with a single shot, blowing up the terrorists hiding behind it thinking they're safe.

Been ripping and tearing as a marine, wiping out an entire entourage that's waiting for him in the front of the hospital.

Places bombs everywhere, after clearing every single room out without any form of resistance for him.

Literally can't stop his progress for even a second, non stop moving forward, clears nearly the entire hospital within a matter of minutes.
All with just a shotgun, not even anything special.

Groovy ass beat in the background, fits perfectly with the "special misison John Wick" type vibe.

Death of the little girl all due to the fault of them lying about there not being innocent bystanders in the hospital.
And the beginning of the demise of all Demonkind.

Goes to this island and meets his nephew. Has almost no interest in the cult on the island or the mech god they're about to unleash on the world. His interest is almost entirely with his nephew who he has just met, family he didn't know he had. He observes Nero from the start, following him and watching, guiding him subtly in ways designed to seem antagonistic, but in truth he is intentionally letting Nero go through his own journey from the start. Dante could have solved this issue any time, but he needs to let Nero do it because he knows it'll ruin Nero's development if he does.

Nero shows off how awesome he is as well, but he spends the entire game in Dante's shadow, with enemies constantly reminding him that Dante is superior. Dante is treated as an insurmountable power ceiling in this game, again. When the player gets control of Dante, he strolls through his missions stomping the demons who previously faced Nero, essentially showing everything on this island who's boss.

He has Trish saving the civilians so he can deal with the big job, but even as his focus is Nero, the civilians need to be evacuated before the fight happens, so they can't be caught in the crossfire. He saves Nero, needing to hold back to avoid accidentally killing Nero or Kyrie. Literally the protagonist of this game actually makes this mission far harder just by existing, as Dante would have swept through it otherwise. The protagonist is literally a burden in his own game, because Dante is just that much stronger. Despite this, Dante is good-natured about it, saves the day and allows Nero to finish Sanctus off at the end, even staying close to Kyrie, who Nero entrusted to Dante. Nero is so overprotective of Kyrie it's insane; he literally kicks Nico for swearing in front of her at one point, and yet he entrusts her to Dante at the end there, when he leaves her with Dante.

Once again, the true boss and MVP of someone else's game, overshadowing the protagonist at being the hero and overshadowing the bosses at being bosses.

While not in Dante's league, you still presented a harder fight than I had anticipated. (Sanctus to Nero after barely beating him)

Well, if the kid screws up, then I'll just have to kick his ass. (Dante, referring to whether Nero can defeat Sanctus' cult)

Dante stands alone between demons and humanity. (In-game description)

The son of the legendry dark knight Sparda, the Devil Hunter Dante has become a legend in his own right. (In-game description)

With his mastery of long and close range combat (in game description)

many demons have come to know Dante's incredible power during his long career (In game description)

Slayer fighting against a mighty foe called Xal'Goroth The Imprisoned.

"From forbidden texts:

Upon the birth of the Cosmic Realm, Xal'Goroth was slowly awakened, as energy and matter coalesced into form within the abyss. Where it stirred, reality trembled, as if existence itself recoiled from the shape it was never meant to take.

This creature's immense power radiates through the silence, palpable yet impossible to understand. Free from any master or purpose, Xal'Goroth knows nothing but consumption, a vessel born to reset creation only when fate runs its course. Fearing that which they could not control, the ancient Wraiths deceived this creature into entrapment within the depths of the void to be lost to ancient memory, forever lingering beneath the realms of existence.

If ever fully awakened, he will collapse universes with the cold finality of a mathematical equation, transforming existence into forms beyond comprehension. The consequences of his end are unknown, but it must come, as his release will end all possibilities."

Xal'Goroth is an enemy powerful enough to end all of creation and existence itself, when awakened.
Slayer ends up folding him sideways like a cardhouse like he does with every single enemy.

A being powerful enough, to have been imprisoned by literal gods, called the wraiths in a realm made just for him.

No offense, but that's exactly your intent 💔

Both of you came in at the last bit started spam posting, in an attempt to sweep in the win.
Im just stating it as it is.
I would have done things hours earlier if I'd been able to, and I would have started posting hours later if blindsiding had been my intent. You're implying negative intent without evidence. And I'd guess Sonic saw my post and added more.

We ain't that cheap, mate. If that were our intent, we'd have dumped 200+ posts in the final minutes instead of starting hours before the match ended. We simply aren't free enough to keep up with these matches anymore.

Dante gets "invited" up to a "party" that basically makes the most obvious announcement possible, a giant tower that smashes out of the ground in the city, an "invitation" literally big enough to be seen from anywhere in the city. Dante smashes through all the guardians, convinces the angry hunter to stop her self-destructive path of mindless destruction, and faces his brother, even if it's an enemy he doesn't want to destroy.

Turns out the creepy guy is the true main villain, and Dante and Vergil join forces to show us what they can do when they stop fighting each other. This guy wields power greater than either of them, but even so is unable to intimidate them, and generally lacks the skills or personal excellence to beat them both. Dante ultimately resolves to stop Vergil by any means necessary, and he faces him and wins in their final battle. Vergil rejects the hand Dante reaches out to him, and will come to pay for that decision. Dante, even after everything, is shown becoming the chivalrous hero here. He resolves to stop Vergil, and defeat him by any means necessary, and yet he offers him mercy and forgiveness at the end, if only Vergil would have taken it. Lady, for her part, did take the kindness he offered, saving her from her own self-destructive path. This is communicated through several key lines such as:

Trust me. I'll make things right for you. That's what my soul is telling me to do.

Slayer is straight up using his shield as an execution block.

One hand gripping the Demons by it's face, forcing its entire body to be cut in half by the Slayer's shieldsaw. With blood splashing everywhere, and over his armor.
Demon is trying to claw at him with both hands in an act of desperation, but the Slayer isn't even reacting. Completely overpowering it by planting his arm ontop of it's head. Has an entire crew of Demongs in the back, forcing them to watch the show as he shreds through one of their kind, making an example out of it.

A shield supposedly being used for protection in fiction, but it ain't just being used as protection here.
He's using it as a weapon of absolute brutality, customized for maximum pain. his original chainsaw, and the reason why he likes chainsaws so much in the other games.

Biceps veins popping out, from using his overwhelming strength to keep the Demon in place.

Turned that imp into a public demonstration in front of his own kind, for all to see that they're next.

A more wholesome image for a change of pace.

Slayer looking like his usual self, clad in the indestructible praetor suit, still holding his shotgum, that can rip a demon in half with a single shot.
And in his other hand, he's holding his pet bunny Daisy.

A big man, a powerful man, some might even say the strongest.
But also a gentle one.

Same hands used to crush skulls, and carry weapons of mass destruction used to give his little pet bunny support.
Being gentle with it, something which we rarely see from the Slayer.

To Hell, The beast, the Hellwalker, the one they fear.
And in earth, a soldier with his pet bunny.

Dante pulls up to Mundus' palace, Mundus starts laughing like he owns reality, and the narrator proceeds to gas him up with every eldritch horror descriptor imaginable.

It was terribly dark for a human, accompanied by echoes that evokes despair to those who hear it. It was no longer a laughter of this world. Beryl heard it. A high-pitched, echoing laughter. (its a laugh that can be heard everywhere/anywhere basically). So dark (as dark as it gets basically) it couldn't possibly be human, the mere sound just by hearing it would make one cannot help but feel despair. Up and down, or even left and right are uncertain in this space, she is standing alone. (Basically directions she can't even tell ooof)There is no sign of Dante nearby. It can't be. Right now he is, beyond Beryl's gaze---in the palace of the endlessly spreading darkness, where a fierce battle is unfolding. His opponent, is the Demon King himself? It's so large that it surpasses all the demons she has ever dealt with or have seen, a body that gives the impression of immeasurable power. (体躯 is the closest kanji i can make out of たいく so if its weird that's why cuz very hard to make out).It is so strong that she felt like falling down just by looking at it, an intimidating feeling she had no way of resisting. It's appearance, she cannot capture it as an image. Only the coagulate darkness. (Coagulate means a state of solid to semi-fluid The Parentheses are TL notes by Red. Alt MTL:It carried a terribly dark tone for something that should have belonged to a human — a resonance that filled the listener with despair. It was no longer laughter of this world. Beryl heard it. A loud, resounding laugh that echoed endlessly. So dark it could not possibly be human — a sound that forced despair upon anyone who heard it. In a space where even up and down, or left and right, could not be clearly discerned, she stood frozen and alone. Dante was not by her side. Of course he wasn't. Right now, far beyond where Beryl gazed — in a palace of darkness stretching without end — he was locked in a fierce battle. His opponent… was it the Demon King himself? A body so immense it surpassed any demon she had ever faced or even laid eyes upon — a form that emanated immeasurable power. Its presence alone was overwhelming enough to make one collapse at the mere sight of it — an oppressive force against which there was no resistance. She could not even perceive its shape as a single figure. It was nothing more than darkness, congealed into existence.

Dante whooped the supposedly heart of the underworld and the very source of its mystical energy soo hard it started questioning his very existence:

The dark body, which was thought to never take damage, groaned and shuddered in pain."That's a good voice. Give me more."Fierce gunshots roared, and countless bullets turned into arrows of light that ran through the Demon King. The mere balls of lead that weren't anything special made even the supposed overwhelming being that is the Demon King suffer in pain, hurting him and even eventually cause him to creep away. But of course, the Demon King wasn't just going to sit back and let himself be beaten. His countless arms swung down swords, rained down arrows of demonic power, and fired bolts of lightning, all in an attempt to bury the insolent challenger."You are naive, Mundus. I already know what you're capable of."As he said that, Dante's footwork was light and he ran through the empty space, avoiding most of the attacks. Furthermore, his counterattacks were painfully delivered upon the Demon King, inflicting fatal wounds. The Demon King, Mundus, could not understand this. He was supposed to be an absolute being, an eternal ruler free from even the flow of time, and to rule over all things in creation. Yet now, here was an opponent who had power that could rival his--Nay, perhaps this opponent is even more powerful than he is.

When “Until It Is Done” kicks in

The track starts hitting and the entire fight suddenly stops feeling like a normal arena encounter.
It feels like the Slayer has finally entered that state where everything around him is just getting caught in the momentum.
No hesitation. No time spent respecting whatever Hell places infront of him. Just constantly moving forward, cycling through weapons and turning the whole battlefield into one continuous execution. And “Until It Is Done” is the most fitting track for it.
It ain't just the name of a song. I's literally the Slayer’s entire mentality. He doesn't fight until he gets tired.
He doesnt fight until someone tells him the mission is over.
He fights until there is physically nothing left in the arena that can continue opposing him, until the entire battlefield is a pile of red meat.
The music kicking in makes it feel like Hell is no longer fighting a person. They're fighting a literal force of nature that has been rampaging across several games and entire ages.

Rip and tear, until it is done.

The enemies keep arriving, the arena keeps escalating, and the Slayer simply becomes increasingly angry with it. In turn becoming more powerful, exactly due to his anger.
All the theme does, is announce the end.

The end of the demons he's facing in battle as he's done ******* around.

Why didn't you use this? V is so insecure that to the point Dante appears in his nightmare because how weak he is.

And don't forget that V is no weakling. He summons a demon that can threaten entire universes just by existing, and his main summon is one of Mundus' generals, demons that once brought hell to heel. Griffon once soared the skies of hell as a ruling member of the elite, declaring Mundus' superiority to all as demons cowered before him. V has him as one of three summons, and far weaker than Nightmare to the point he considers his own power to not even be true power by comparison, and yet this guy cowers and practically wets himself when Dante looks at him.

Dante takes on the secondary antagonist of MVCI. Jedah has been running rough-shod over everyone including gods and Avengers, laughing in Ghost Rider's face while Dormammu follows his orders like a servant, and here he's armed with an Infinity Stone, the Soul Stone no less, the exact one that lines up best with Jedah's soul-based powers. Dante doesn't even have an Infinity Stone of his own, and yet he not only beats Jedah but takes the Soul Stone from him, snatching it from the air literally as Jedah falls to him. Jedah argues that his own nobility is what it takes to wield the Soul Stone, and Dante overshadows this with that line:
I let you live. Sounds pretty noble to me.
Conversely, Dante's perseverance, and the fact he hasn't even been fighting for real up to this point, is characterized by this line:
Failed? HAHAHAHA! I'm just gettin' warmed up!
Jedah spends this whole scene taunting Dante for his half-human lineage, with Jedah's elitism and bigotry on full display. Calls him "half-blood", "half-breed", dismisses him as irrelevant, and then has to throw in that nobility comment at the end. This is a stuffy, arrogant, bigoted narcissist being put in his place, face-down in the dirt where him and his ego belong as the "half-breed" flies away with the Soul Stone, Jedah's unshakable pride and infinite ego shattered into a billion pieces.

Jedah earlier showing what a piece of garbage he is while mouthing off to Ghost Rider, Morrigan and Doctor Strange, the Spirit of Vengeance, a demon queen and the Sorcerer Supreme, respectively. He is completely nonchalant about sacrificing a million humans, and openly says he intends to sacrifice a million more, to the horror of all assembled. Remember, this is the guy Dante later leaves beaten down in the dirt.

Both brothers are having a blood pumping duel in a dimension way further from their own:

Dante enters the training field.
Hey, they even have a Babel Tower simulation.
And they've got music too. These guys got some taste.

He browses the music.
Dante:
Let me try this one...
Dante: Nope, absolutely horrible.
The training field's sound system plays song after song, with Dante quickly skipping to the next track each time.

Dante: This one's pretty good, but not quite what I'm looking for.
Dante: This is it!
Dante: Hmm... I bet Nero would really dig this song...
Vergil arrives.
Vergil:
I've waited long enough, Dante.

The surprise attack.
Vergil surges forward, driving a vicious kick toward Dante's head.
Dante blocks.
Dante: Don't be so hasty, Vergil. We've got all the time in the world to play.
Dante catches Vergil's ankle.
Dante: Take this!
Dante throws Vergil into the air.
Vergil throws Yamato.
Dante twists aside.
Yamato cuts Dante's coat before embedding itself in the ground.
Dante rips Yamato free and throws it back.
Vergil catches it by sheathing it on landing and is pushed backward.

Their brief exchange.
Vergil:
Looks like I'm up one.
Dante notices the cut in his coat.
Dante: Cheap tactics don't earn points. The match is still even.
Vergil: Whatever you say...

The duel truly begins.
Dante summons the Devil Sword.
Vergil unsheathes Yamato.
They stand in silent opposition, eyes locked.
Blood burns in their veins.
Smiles spread across their faces.
Without a signal, both charge simultaneously.

The opening clash.
Their blades collide with an explosive shockwave.
Dante: It's been way too long since we had a proper throwdown like this, Vergil!
Sparks burst from Devil Sword Dante and Yamato.
Dante: I thought I'd be stuck here forever, never seeing you again. Can you imagine that?
Vergil: Utterly boring.
Dante: That's right! Utterly boring! But you came anyway. Guess we're just doomed to keep this clash going forever, huh?
Vergil: As if ordained by fate itself.

The narration.
Even in another world, the fight between the Sons of Sparda continues.
Their blades carve chaos, steel flashing as blood scatters through the air.
From childhood to manhood, from past to present.
To see one's justice through, one must fight for it. For power. To protect what's important.
Their white hair appears disheveled from the battle. The same face, the same power, the same blood—for a fleeting moment, the twins fall in a daze, each seeing himself in the other.
When did their paths begin to diverge?
Was it during that confrontation on the cliff? Or during that fire? Or perhaps... even longer ago?

Their final exchange.
Vergil:
You're still so stubborn, and just as thoughtless.
Dante: And you're still wearing that smug look on your face.
Smiles bloom alongside blood.

Dante & Vergil: Vergil! / Dante!

Ending narration.
Perhaps one day, the story of the Sons of Sparda will come to an end.
But for now, their legend still endures.

Dante's Resting Themes:

A devil hunter quietly rests before an ancient god that wanders across time, letting the silence settle before marching back into Hell. There's no swagger here but just calm resolve and the weight of Sparda's legacy waiting to awaken.

Deep down the devil hunter knew the world could be ending but Dante stands in complete silence, as detached from the chaos that engulfed the empty city around him. A man who's already accepted that no battle is worth getting excited over at that point.

After laughing in the face of every demon he pummeled to oblivion, Dante casually leans against the sacred statue like he's taking a smoke break between massacres.

The legendary devil hunter pauses for a brief rest, carrying himself with effortless confidence, as though every demon in Fortuna can wait until he's ready to move again.

Sitting atop the Divinity Statue with one leg hanging over the edge, Dante looks less like a man preparing for war and more like the king taking a moment before reclaiming his throne. Even the apocalypse waits for him to stand back up.

More Dante figurines, still looking like a modern knight with a modern style and gothic twist. Combining the best of medieval and modern should never be underappreciated. The knightly stance where he swears while holding this magic lightning blade with cool-looking bat wings for a cross guard is more of that, gothic, magical and chivalrous all at once.

A figurine wielding a heavy double barrel shotgun resembling Ash's boomstick except far nastier looking. Here he looks like a modern hunter ready to blast the bad guys away with a scary gun, and the red coat frames that image well.

Awesome stance on this statue, sword point down in the ground and guns crossed, iconic positioning for both sword and guns, impressive squat positioning for him with them. The sword would also serve the added purpose here of being right at his back, a barrier between his back and anything that came behind him, not that he'd need it.

The Battle between Marok, son of Valen and the Slayer.

Absolute banger of a battle, i got my ass kicked in the beginning on nightmare difficulty.
Comes with 3 different boss phases, Marok becoming more powerful with each phase.

With this theme playing in the background of the entire battle:

"A warrior of legend, Commander Valen stands as the last of an elite order, his name etched in the annals of Sentinel history. Fearless and resolute, he has waged war for decades against the enemies of Argent D'Nur, yet the horrors he has seen weigh heavily upon him. His greatest battle now lies not on the field, but within — his son, eager to claim glory in his father's legendary name, walks the same bloody path."

"Marok's fighting ability surpasses that of even his father, Commander Valen. Gifted with speed and fearlessness, Marok distrusts the now enhanced Slayer, believing that a power such as his should be under Sentinel control."

Most powerful of the line of Sentinel warriors, now enhanced and strengthened by the divinity machine, wanting power up to part with the Slayer, unkbeknownst to him, that he'll never be able to match the absolute might of the Slayer, as the Slayer is the only constant in the entire universe.

The Destroyer.

Marok kills King Novik, and betrays his king due to the control of the Khan.

Marok awaits the Slayer, as he completed his last trial in Purgatory, thinking he can farm aura or defeat in the Slayer in combat.

Destroys the portal he had just created through his trials.

Slayer just mogs him in both looks, physique and hair. Looking like Leonidas from 300, but the more masculine buff version.

Battle begins, efficiently dodges every single attempt of an attack by Marok, by dashing backwards showing the sheer disrepancy in skill and experience.

Empowered by the powers of the Maykrs themselves.

Spawns in two ethereal wolves, that get obliterated as soon as they enter the field.
Stood absolutely no chance whatsoever.

Continues to dodge his attacks perfectly, dancing around him while non stop counter attacking.

Falters Marok with his non stop attacks, punches him in the jaw from left and right, rocking his brain while he's already bloodied up from a fight that had just started.

Lands a super shotgun hit between every single dodged attack.

Not much after, he damages him enough to the point where he's stunned again, hit's him with another huge fist against his jaw.
You can literally hear the sheer impact and weight from his punches.

Pov: you are fighting against the Slayer.

Marok starts malfunctioning a bit, most likely because the Slayer's iron fist rocked his brain a bit.
Khan Maykr attempts to get the Slayer to stop, by saying "He's the brave son of your allies" in order to make the Slayer feel guilt.

Marok enters his next phase, becoming empowered even more, Slayer just... jumps over his attacks easily.

Khan Maykr yapping about that Argent D'Nur will belong to her, and that she'll be their salvation.
She won't be, the Slayer will become the King of the Sentinels.

Rushes towards Marok instantly, giving him another punch to the jaw, to rattle his brains a bit more and grabs him by the neck.

Flashback of the Khan hyping Marok up enough to fight the Slayer, bro ain't made for allat. saying "He'll leave us in ashes"
He. Does. Not. Want. The. Smoke.

Khan Maykr personally grants him power, and shows up in avatar form now to gang up on the Slayer, because Marok himself obviously ain't enough for him.
Mind you, the Slayer here is fighting without hid armor as it's destroyed.

"Out of the ashes of your defeat"
"A new world is forming"

Acting as if she's able to defeat him in the first place...
Talk the talk, walk the wlak. Slayer does not say a single word.

"With Ahzrak slain, the council accepted my terms"

Both Heaven and Hell united, in an attempt to defeat A. Single. Man.

The end is near for Marok, however hard he tried to fight, he's no match for the Slayer after all. Armor completely destroyed, face and body covered in his own blood, while the Slayer doesn't even have a single wound to speak of.

Gets absolutely rocked again.

BANGER THEME PLAYING DURING BATTLE

Dodges everything they throw at him, no matter what it is with pure aura OST playing.

Marok has lost the battle, folded like a pretzel, fell over like a cardhouse even with the Khan Maykr being his support.
Slayer starts hammering him with his fists, making him drop his weapons.

Slayer like i showed before is a merciful person towards humans.
He doesn't really want to kill them, lowers his gun when Marok drops to his knees even when he killed the Sentinel King.
Notice how the Slayer doesn't even have a single scratch?

Marok gets abandoned by the Khan, and is being hit with the tether, electitrying him with supernatural energy.
And yet again, we see the human side of the Slayer as he worries for Marok, walking forwards most likely due to wanting to help him.

Marok stabs himself in the head, ending his own suffering. However, this causes the tether to explode, blowing himself up.

Slayer gets hit with the explosion due to standing right next to Marok, comes out completely unharmed while nothing remains of Marok himself.

After this scene, they craft the Praetor suit, and the Slayer is now insanely mad due to what the Khan has done.

Yea DMC added up bit

+324 for them
+322 for Doomslayer(ts doesn't include post above btw)

Mad glaze by the artist of the game for the character and the clothes. Talks about how he looks cool with an elegant regal quality even while standing still. Describes him as a highly skilled badass.

Blasting demons with that shotgun from above. Huge flash and makes those demons crumble like paper.

Family portrait, showing the three descendants of Sparda together looking like the badasses they are.

Pose inspired by Michael Jackson with a stylish hat. The hat has pretty nice magic abilities. Bonus for the fact this hat was the game's answer when higher ups made them add microtransactions for getting red orbs; this hat is designed to get you lots of red orbs quickly through combos. This hat is a stylish fashion piece, a nod to the king of pop, and a rejection of microtransactions, all at once.

Standing with a huge legendary sword, that literally has a spine in the back of it resting across his shoulder. V who can smash demon heads with his cane could barely lift this thing. Note also in that video how this huge sword aims at Dante's face, stabs next to his head, he doesn't flinch, and he calmly says:
thought you were gonna shish kabob me.
to which V says:
I know how stubborn you can be. I thought it might be the only way to wake you.

Dante unleashing a Drive attack sword beam down a street at some demons while brandishing this huge claymore and not only wielding it one-handed but even swapping it between hands like it's nothing.

Whole cast heading to battle looking like a combat force. Trish with a huge legendary demon sword, Nero with a huge sword and cyborg arm, Lady with a huge rocket launcher, Dante looking like a warrior with his sword. There's also no version of this assembly at any point in time where he isn't the strongest one there. Even if we turn V into Vergil it just becomes a tie, and Dante has a habit of winning their fights anyway...

It seems like you are an amateur, unfamiliar with the ways of farming AURA. This is still a part of farming aura, taking an aura loss, to farm even more aura later, it isn't just about building and building, but destroying and building even bigger.
Continuing with this theme, let's witness the first time we get to see him.

A woman dressed in black leather with shades on a full moon night does a front flip as if she did it from the moon itself and lands near the entrance of a shop called "Devil May Cry".

Dante's in the shop lamenting about lack of password and not getting any real business.

That's when the woman decides to make an entrance by bursting a wheelie through the door on a red hot motorcycle.

And what's Dante's response to all this you may ask, well he asks to "slow down babe".
And wonders, "Well well, what do we have here?"
And then blud asks "Nature's call? It's in the back!"
Lmfao, here woman tried to aurafarm hard and Dante instead almost trolls her.

Convo goes on and both acts mysterious.

And then ***** decides to electrocute him via his sword with magic, roundhouse kicks on the face, knee to the face again, and then stabs and impales him with his own sword that she threw even harder enchanted with electric magic and on top of that blasts him with more electric magic to keep electrocuting him and also insulting him. Finally, she throws the motorcycle on him too for extra measure.

Atp, Dante finally decides it's "Time to go to work guys" and then swirls his pistols and stops the incoming motorcycle in mid air and pushes it by rapidly shooting it.
Then stands up and walks towards the woman while the sword is still in him like if nothing has happened. He takes the sword straight out of his chests and thrusts it on the floor to make a point.

Blud let her aurafarm first by taking an L only to aurafarm over her later anyway.

Cinematic camera spiraling and epic eye-shot which captures a reflection of Urizen in slow-mo. This to emphasize the one who stole Dante's aura that he will eventually reclaim and aura farm over even harder.
Here even after Urizen knocked the lights out off him, Dante is still Aura farming like he's sitting on a throne in a comatose state of all things, for a month straight.

Two more incredibly hard tracks, when the Slayer gets revenge on the Henchman, a being empowered by the High Council of Hell.
Six almighty Demons right below Davoth himself. Currently ruling all of Hell.

Most likely the next enemy and lamb to the slaughter for the next DOOM game.

"Translation from the Liber Malifex:

Zaruthiel the Old Father

Judge of Dawn. First of the Six.

He who demands fealty. He who denies freedom. It is through his shattered voice that new eras are proclaimed and dynasties ordained. His favor is bought by the snap of the leash, freely ofered and placed within his grasp. Seek his temple in the Halls of Torment, where the bent knees of fallen kings are nailed down in dirt before his glory.

Karnoth the Armorer

Judge of Morning. Second of the Six.

He who demands war. He who denies peace. It is through his mighty hammer that the armies of Hell are weaponed and gilded against all foes. His favor is bought by the searing brand, burned into flesh to declare him lord and master. Seek his temple in the Sundered Mountain, where warmongers and despots drive the slaver's whip in service to uncounted furnace pits.

Gahrzeth the Treacherous

Judge of Noon. Third of the Six.

He who demands tithe. He who denies piety. It is through his inscrutable cunning that coffers are filled and plunder retained. His favor is bought by priceless theft, the gifting of stolen treasures which can never be reclaimed. Seek his temple in the Glittering Spire, where betrayers and misers are hoarded and transfixed in unmoving stillness for all to witness.

Iskathra

Judge of Twilight. Fourth of the Six.

She who demands flesh. She who denies love. It is through her divine hands that exquisite pains and terrible ecstasies are shared in abundance. Her favor is bought by the seduction of pure things, and the corruption of unblemished beauty. Seek her temple in the Curtained Brothel, where sadists and gluttons suffer their delights until they bring only terror.

Thalrasha, the Last Queen of Jekkad

Judge of Evening. Fifth of the Six.

She who demands sorrow. She who denies mercy. It is through her baleful tears that all joy is devoured, and sin is nurtured. Her favor is bought by bloody vengeance and maledictions cast upon the innocent. Seek her temple in the Sunken Priory, where unfaithful and cowards pray with sewn lips for empty salvation.

Ozalith the Old Mother

Judge of Midnight. Sixth of the Six.

She who demands death. She who denies life. It is through her hollow gaze that all things are engulfed by dark. Her favor cannot be bought, for she is beyond all desire and any appeal. Do not seek her temple, for in time it shall find you.

All of these beings empowered the Henchmen, and turned them into their personal champion.

The Henchman spawns in.

"
By decree of Zaruthiel, First of the Six:

My word is final.

When his judgment arrives, Belias, our loyal henchmen, is to be granted ascension. He has made the proper sacraments and paid his debt in full. In service, Belias has never

mistaken his place. He did not reach beyond his measure and remained devoted when others fled.

During the reign of the impetuous Prince Ahzrak he served without disruption, attending to the whelp as his own. When Ahzrak fell, the horde fractured. It was Belias who found the Prince's spear upon the battlefield, drenched in the Slayer's blood, and bore it before the Council.

For this, he will be rewarded. And so it shall pass.

When his form is spent, it will be taken. What is lacking we will correct. He will be returned as the will of the Six made flesh.

Until that time, he remains in service."

Thyra wants to join the Slayer in combat with her unit of soldiers, Slayer looks to her and gives her a sign to leave.
He has some personal shit going on with the henchman and he wants a piece of him.
Or he might spread his pieces all over the field, whatever he prefers.

Absolutely ***** up the Henchman.
Bloodied up, ripped / shredded to pieces due to the Slayer's anger.
He wanted him to suffer.

These punches are personal, coming from deep hatred.

Tries a last stand, attempting to weaken the Slayer with his past, although the Slayer has already conquered it, and is thus completely unaffected.

Replies by shoving his super shotgun into his mouth blowing a nice hole into his brains.

Get's the Sentinels to rally behind him, standing behind one single man as their supporting force.
The Slayer is the one being an entire race stands behind, the only being they need.
The most ironclad offense you can have in the DOOM verse.

The beginning of the final confrontation with the Henchman.
The track brings back pieces of At DOOM’s Gate, From the Ashes and Abomination, combining the Slayer’s entire journey into one rematch.
The monster that previously humiliated him is now facing the result of everything the Slayer endured after that defeat.

That original riff has followed the character from the halls of Phobos to the deepest parts of Hell, and now it returns while the Slayer finishes the being that once proved untouchable.

The overall aura of the Revelations soundtrack is that it begins with the Slayer being broken and cast down, then gradually turns his defeat into another chapter of his legend / aura.

Dante picks his chair up off the floor by kicking it into the air, then casually drops into it while it's in mid motion to land nicely in it, and rolls his feet up onto the desk, all this in one inhumanly smooth motion. He smacks his heel on the table and knocks the ringing phone in the air towards himself, catching it as it falls and answering it. The way he picks up the chair, sits in it and answers the phone is so smooth it's basically impossible to do for anyone else. This is also the first time he's answered the phone with his new shop.

Nero and Nico smashing through demons on the road, with Nero referring to them as bumps in the road. Nero leaps out and starts shooting these demons in midair, leaping around and trashing them in the air as the van moves through, and then he smoothly returns to the van as if nothing has happened. Classic DMC stylish airborne combat while stomping fodders. Fodders which are later shown wiping out armed soldiers, by the way.

At this point Nero is so much weaker than Dante that I'm not even sure I can name a word large enough to describe it. He later needs Dante to save his life.

Agnus kills Nero early on. Remember, Dante stomps a stronger version of Agnus later, and so does a stronger Nero later on.

V beats a time controlling demon horse and a demonic knight with lightning powers stolen from Trish.

V easily avoids an incoming van.

Remember V is the guy who almost collapses because Dante looks at him wrong.

Impressive combination attack with Vergil, each even borrowing each other's weapons briefly then throwing them back to each other and catching them without looking. Finally they put the guy who stole their father's treasures down together with a nice pose with Dante's guns, Vergil thematically holding the dark one while Dante holds the light one, and posing in a formation just for the appearance of it. Guy can't believe it as he declares he has the true power of Sparda, only for Vergil to ridicule him for such a claim essentially being his dying words.

So who won?

Big respect to @Hellscream, you soloed the match. Applause is all I can do lol, no idea how you did it but I guess Doom Slayer has THAT much Aura to pull from

Whichever one wins it, I'd like to say both characters clearly have lots of aura and presence, and never forget that the wholesome moments matter too. Chivalry and decency are indeed important, and yes that applies to Doomslayer's love of animals as well as to Dante's kindness to those who suffer.

Never underestimate a gentle man.
