Star Wars Discussion Thread Canon/Legends- Episode VI Return of the Threadi

Honestly when are blasters just going to be put at 8-A lmfao

Either ya make Jedi/Sith vary or blasters scale to them
I like the idea that Force users have varying power levels, but I also think Jango and those similar should just outright scale. It's literally Jango's most notable showing

His profile has a note that claims it's an outlier. But it's Jango's most notable feat in canon, and other Mandalorians have traded blows with Obi-Wan and other Force users too

Regarding AP, do I think blasters are just that strong? Like, they're plasma, and we don't have canonical numbers for their temperature, etc. Like, can they be that strong?

Mainly because we don't usually do that on the wiki? Like, we have a lot of characters above Tier 8 who use melee weapons and regular firearms, and we consider them that strong just because. Speed is the same; I don't know if we have canonical speeds for blasters, and the fact that they're human shouldn't limit their speed in fiction.

Furthermore, I was checking interviews/guides/books for information on the Mandalorians.

And it's said that they changed their combat methods and equipment to face the Jedi, to the point of calling their equipment "anti-Jedi."

So, at least to me, it makes perfect sense that they adapted to the Jedi.

I have FINALLY finished my work on Mando's profile.

Note 1: if someone can read the source code and make the By Himself section be scrollable, I'd be very grateful.

Note 2: many profiles aren't linked and many of them aren't created, such as Paz Vizla, The Armorer and mainly: Beskar'gam. Those I will create as soon as I am able to and link them all together at a later point before creating creating CRT
Hey man, are you still there? (since the last time you were online was last month)

I've collected these things below.

I've noticed that there aren't many standard features for Mandalorians. While vambraces have some things that are standard, there are many others that don't seem to be.

So I don't know if it's justifiable for me to create a page like "Standard Mandalorian Equipment/Mandalorian Physiology."

But since I've collected scans/references, etc., I think this could help you with the CRTs you're planning for the Mandalorians?

Guys, I was rewriting the justification for the stat amplification on the Force page to follow what we currently have on the pages (Physics scaling to Force feats). And it ended up like this, what do you think?

I'm not the biggest fan of using things from RPGs, but they were one of the only direct things I found. I added other supporting things so it wouldn't be entirely based on that.
It's more of an increase in stamina etc. rather than immortality type 2 imo.
Characters with this degree of immortality can indefinitely survive injuries that would otherwise be lethal to a normal person, without needing to heal.
You should be able to survive the lethal attacks indefinitely. Not just resistance to some degree. Also i don't think it'd apply regardless given what we have seen that caused death for many force users.

I just need to put a "limited" because it's not indefinite.

I was looking for more information about Force Sense because I also want to rework it. I won't add anything new, I'll just format the justification better; I didn't write it the best way at the time.

Man, this RPG crap is so confusing.

There are things from 2015 that are considered Legends by the fandom wiki.

Like, Force and Destiny. They consider half of the sourcebooks canon, and others Legends. And are things about Force Sense in the Legends section? There are some things that they say contain Legends and Canon information together.

And the worst part is that there's no explanation for why they consider something Legends or not? Like, everything released from 2016 until now is classified as Canon, understandable.

But why is there content from 2015 that they consider Legends? At that time, shouldn't everything released be in the new canon?

I think I'll only use this RPG stuff in very specific cases.

Like, I used it in the lightsaber forms. Because it's the only source that talks about each form in great detail (the rest is literally just a sentence).

And in this case, the scalar physics of the Force, because that's something already accepted in the verse, but without any concrete justification anywhere.

I don't think using these RPG books will be something I'll use casually.

Heheheheheh, do it! Do what must be done!
There's one of those books considered canon about a Force power (with Kanan illustrated) that can conjure spectral weapons. So I'm like, "Should I use that? It's very different; it's never appeared in any alternative media, even though Kanan is illustrated using it." Another reason I don't want to use this is that one day someone might make a CRT saying none of this can be used, and then a lot of things would have to be removed. At most, I just want to use it as support. Like with the lightsaber forms and this physical and Force thing (although in this case, 50% of the content comes from these books at the moment). Although not many people make CRTs about Star Wars, especially the canon ones.

If they do, make them edit it all!

Hey, I've been doing 1938929 things at the same time so I've been quite far from the wiki, my apologies

If you watch the Mandalorian, we can quite assume that they have similar equipment (vambraces with the cord, helmets that ease aim and some that shoot, jetpacks (some that also shoot)

should be a small page, but it's justifiable since there are like 6+ characters who would benefit from it and it'd be reasonabek

What references are you referring to? Will possibly come back if my job doesn't require that much of me to make the 3 profiles I'd love to see: mandalorian standard equipment, tarre vizla and the armorer

The things you mentioned are already standard, I'm just unsure about some vambrace features.

In this case, would it be standard for vambraces to have blasters, plasma shields, vibrating blades, and a Whistling Bird?

The Whistling Bird is probably not standard, since only two Mandalorians have been shown to have it, and Din Djarin didn't have it as standard.

But I'm unsure about the rest.

For the plasma shield and the Whistling Bird, we can mention them on the only profiles of characters that use them, which is regularly done (and is taken into consideration for Mando's profile, IE), but idk where you found that the Vibroknife and blasters come from the vambraces, when they're completely separate equipment

Some vambraces appear to have built-in blasters.

Oh that's from the Clone Wars
haven't watched that, so I really had no idea

Wouldn't include those, since, as you pointed out, it isn't the norm for a big part of them
The first one is from Rebels.

I'm unsure because when Sabine receives a vambrace, it already comes with a built-in blaster and plasma shield.

I find it quite funny how the "Force Amplification" of profiles applies to everything except LS. Like, it improves the character's physical AP and not LS?

I think with the new justification, this will be able to apply to physical as well.

Generally there's not much substance to it for a lot of characters lol, there's a reason I like to subscribe to "Force users vary" because that makes so much more sense than them just dropping their amplifications to get Order 66'd

The thing is, the "varies" rating was changed a long time ago to something to be used when canonically the character(s) vary in power, and not about inconsistency or things like that.

Varies

These are characters, weapons, etcetera, whose power levels are subject to change, as well as profiles of races/species whose power levels vary depending on the member. “Varies” ratings should only be given to characters who have a canon explanation for why their statistics fluctuate. This does not include characters who are simply inconsistent or have unexplainable variations in their displayed power level. The fluctuations in power must have a clear and logical basis within the character's respective canon.

Examples of Qualifying Characters

  1. Characters with clearly defined canon explanations for power fluctuations:

Examples of Non-Qualifying Characters

  1. Characters who are simply inconsistent without a canon explanation:
    • Certain iconic cartoon characters

Star Wars is in the "the script forgets 99% of the Jedi powers 99% of the time to align with the script" situation, not an explanation within the verse.

Besides, we can simply scale the blaster power to 8-A anyway.

I mean that there is an ACTUAL mechanic at play here, at least in legends.

Blasters don’t actually have 8A. You legit gonna need some feats and actual statements backing the said rating in question.

Also as pointed out by DaReaper, the Force Users ain’t inherently 8A anyway.

Besides, Telekinesis feats is like the most go to for any Force users no matter the continuity especially with the many Telekinesis feats off the bat including Darth Vader with his suit anyway

Well, I haven't watched but seems like it's specific for her clan/group so we could mark it out on her profile instead of disregarding a page for what's common between basically all Beskar'gam wearers

Din Djarin hasn't shown to have these two, has he? Well, then it's not a standard, I guess.

You can use my sandbox if you want, and when you make the Mandalorian CRTs, you can also use the CRT; I'm focused on other things.

EDIT: Although I don't know if he demonstrated anything standard for vambraces like darts and repulsors. So I don't know if something like 'didn't demonstrate use = doesn't have it', anyway I don't really care what vambraces are considered standard, although for the 3 I listed I think, you decide when to do the crt.

But...that's what I said.
I know that when I'm typing at work I feel kinda drowsy but if I couldn't properly get the message through on the times I've said so, lemme try once more:

There are common stuff in all forms of Beskar'gam, characteristics from the metal, vambraces have cord, helmets and jetpacks are there. Anything other than those would be said on the profiles from the people who have them, making, I.e. Boba Fett's equipment section look like this:
*- Standard Beskar'gam
*- Homing Attack (both the helmet and the jetpack pipipipopopo)
[Insert other equips like blasters]
Instead of looking like this:
*- Flight via jetpack
*- Homing Attack via the helmet and the jetpack
*- Resistance to [lightsaber] and [blaster]
*- Limited Durability Negation (beskar weapons bypass beskar armor)
*- likely Limited thread manip (should have a cord on the vambrace like his peers like Din Djarin)
*- likely can trace footsteps (as demonstrated by Din Djarin)
*- [insert other properties that i may have forgotten and other equips]

Could I properly get the message through on what I think solves such problem and the purpose of a Beskar'gam page? I legit hope so

Is the jetpack rocket telescopic or is it because of the helmet?

In Legends, is there any explanation for the inconsistent use of force powers or is it simply "It doesn't happen because the writer doesn't want it to"?
For Order 66 at least, Jedi had their senses clouded (so they couldn't have known clones were about to shoot them, and react with a force barrier or the like) and it was noted that every Jedi who died in turn weakened the Light Side, which made other Jedi weakened.

Second this. Blasters have feats consistently lower than 8-A.

Nah, Force User still do need their focus/mental concentration.

That is literally how they do the telekinesis feats and stuff.

Hell, even the movies shows them needing some focus.

Heck, we have a old CRT regarding both Legends and Canon Force Users.

yeah, straight up, that's how they vary lmfao

in both Legends and Canon BTW(If I recall correctly, anyway, since I can't tell what the conclusion on that thread was)

They agree to a “varied” Tier for canon, but there was pushback against “Varied” Tier for Legends from a regular user.

ByAsura was supposed to have a CRT regarding the justification for Legends “Varied” Tier, but it never been posted since he lost interest and on top of that, the amount of content to sort through since it ain’t exactly a small amount to say the least

Also just realized I put “Nah, Force User” instead of “Yeah” in my earlier reply.

Lol, kinda didn’t pay closer attention to that comment when tying out in night time earlier.

Well, either way, it is what it is.
