Would Muffet work? Ig she can kinda count as a vigilante considering she's one of Mettaton's hired-guns and tries to ambush and kill a Genocide Frisk when she, as a civilian, was supposed to evacuate with everyone else. For how she fights, she puts the opponent in a SOUL web thingy that doesn't restrain them as much as just limits their movement and proceeds to just bombard them with danmaku.

I think he doesn't align very well tiering-wise (His 8-C is a oneshot from Rhino and his 5-B seems like a oneshot the other way)

He's 8-C. If mythical weapons is a nuh uh from you, then you use him without mythical as I'm pretty sure he has pretty decent wincons.

You know, I'm realizing Monster Hunter has a bunch of High 8-Cs, and this particular description does make me think of Nargacuga... who's page, in turn, isn't as good as Gore Magala's now (Much less whenever the one guy fixes it up)

Dude, Mythicals aren't saving Player from the massive AP difference. It's NLF to assume Parry would work against someone dozens of time stronger than him when it doesn't even work against most of his Skills.

Mythicals for John Combat would make it unfair for other 8-C's but mythicals aren't helpful for John Combat in higher tiersetters? Doesn't really make sense ngl.
Parry working against High 8-C's is not really NLF as it's an ability he can just use and it can help him in this tiersetter. Parry has it's weaknesses like AOE attacks, explosions, or Ranged attacks.

It doesn't help when THE OPPONENT IS JUST GOING TO TAKE ZERO DAMAGE FROM THEM. Only thing they're useful for is the status effects which aren't even that good.
Except it is. Stronger attacks can get through it. The fact that most Skills counter Parry is why they're so useful in the first place.
Only Skill that Parry works against is Stab Dash. A bunch of other Skills that are none of the above just goes right through it.

Nah not really. He observes the way his opponent fights and then counters properly. He doesn't straight up predict the future.
