Both share the same tier and have some similarities along with very big differences! Lets see how these two face off in a battle

Both are at High 7-A


Battle takes place in Alabasta


Speed isn't equal ( Juvia scales massively above mach 1400 and Ace scales above mach 6600 )

and win via any means necessary


Portgas D. Ace: 2 ( The Calaca, Milky Rocking Bandit )


Juvia Lockser: 1 ( HST Master )

Sorry, I wanted to say that. I'll stick to the point.

Well, both are really close. Juvia scales to 2.2 Gigatons while Ace scales to 2.6 (3 actually, I'm looking at you Schnee e_e), and both have Elemental Intangibility.

But I think I'll give this to Ace because albeit basic, he has Armament Haki and could harm Juvia's body while Juvia has to rely on splashing the whole area which Ace could match with his fire. Plus, he has not only stamina advantage but experience dealing with people who uses water (Jinbei).
 
I'd give it to Juvia.

Ace's pure weakness is being covered in water by at least his waist, and by jove, Juvia has a spell specifically for that in Water Lock. Not only that how often is Ace to actually use his Haki? Cuz from what I've seen (I may be wrong) and what's on his profile, he's entirely reliant on his DF powers even against other Logia users. Along with the AP difference being minimal.
 
Is Water Lock in-character tho? I only remember an instance where she used it (against Gray).

Ace had Haki and was able to use it. The only fight he had againt a Logia where he should have use it was against Smoker and that fight was a stalemate because of story.

He fought with Jinbe who is a proficient Haki user for five days and fought Blackbeard who could use both his Haki and his Power Null to circunvent his intangibility. He didn't need Haki against Blackbeard because he can't go intangible.

He clashed with Sakazuki, tho it's unsure who was using Haki in that ocassion.

On the other side, if Ace realizes about Juvia's water body, he'll use Haki. She's like a Water Logia after all.

one issue with her Water Lock, Ace produces a massive amount of heat passively, he was able to stop snow from falling in a cold area with his sheer body heat. Idk if Juvia would be able to pull it off, well successfully at least since the water would likely get vaporized.
 
Juvia scales above Mach 1400 and Ace to 6600.

Edit: Forgot about Ace's aura. That might help.
 
IIRC a blitz is when a character is 10x faster. There's no blitz in the MHS+ unless some dude scales to "blitzing" a MHS+ character.

So fire boy is now 1.5x stronger.
 
I'm not denying Ace has Haki. I'm soley asking if it's in character for him to use it, since he never does or is really implied to have used it and it's not the 1st case of a character having an ability but not being entirely willing to do so (RPG characters and Magic, Uchiha and Genjutsu, etc.).

It's not her starting move, Water Slicer is. But it is her win con.

And like counter said MHS+ is a wide tier. So ace would probably blitz if unequal (I'm assuming, idk what he's scaled to.).
 
He can't blitz while being less than 5x faster (lesser considering BS scaling chains).

He wouldn't do it unless he notices he need it. It's like Juvia's Water Lock.
 
He used it in the novel to beat a Vice Admiral (it also doesn't help Ace came from a part of the story before haki became very focused on so that's likely why he wasn't shown with it often.).
 
Df user starting to lose their power unless they are inside water(more than half) i doubt ace can do anything if he get sumberged into waterlock

Fair enough.

Also on the ambient heat thing, don't Devil Fruit abilities generally stop working when they're in Water so Ace won't be giving off that Heat once submerged?
 
The novel also established Aces aura is instantaneous (he stopped a snow storm on an island more or less instantly just by being there.)
 
They can still make steam tho.

DF users can't activate their abilities while submerged. They aren't nullified, just rendered immobile.

Js also clarified that his aura is actually pretty quick to cover distances.

Haki only hurt df logia user, Juvia intagibilty comes from her water magic not df, you can't equalize them
 
You can't equalize them in the sense of Logia not having a pool of magic.

Juvia has a physical body and Haki can force the physical body out of the elemental body.

If not, he just vaporizes her with his maximum heat output. It's not like Juvia's stamina is infinite.
 
also, about the whole "Ace steams his way out of Water Lock" thing, the second he is trapped in the Water Lock, his powers will stop working. Juvia should be able to keep up with him until she uses it

It shouldn't be too hard to submerge Ace in water considering how massive her AOE atacks are. Heck, she can use Rain Dance to give her an advantage
