I want to stick Luffy in as many matchups as I can, no matter how dumb they are.

Luffy vs Charizard

Charizard has no trainer, so it acts off of instinct

Going by my research, the Large Mountain level is from Marowak w/ Thick Club doubling his attack potency. So Mega evolution Pokemon should be >>>531 x 2 = >>>1062MT or >>>1.06GT. So Gear Fourth Luffy is much higher than Charizard being >2.5GT.

Which Luffy is this and which Mega Charizard is this? I'm going with Wano Luffy and it doesn't matter which Charizard it is.

Luffy have precognition with Future Sight that allow him to predict Charizard movements, he have higher AP and can overwhelm Charizard with homing attacks from Snakeman which his attacks can get faster if Charizard dodges them. Voting for the Rubber Captain.
 
Luffy:

  • More than 2.5x stronger.
  • Has precognition.
  • Has resistance to Charizard's main arsenal.
  • More stamina.
  • Conqueror's Haki could tame Charizard.
  • Higher Lifting Strength.
  • Observation Haki render Smokescreen useless.
  • Big resistance to blunt force and piercing damage.
  • Snakeman would give Luffy greater attack speed.
Charizard:

  • Has better flight.
  • More versatile.
  • AoE.
  • Stat amps since Luffy's techically starting with his.
So yeah, Luffy should take this. He resists high temperatures. Physical attacks would bounce back and piercing damage could be no-sold with Haki since Luffy's stronger. But his precognition is the most important thing here. With this it won't matter what Charizard tries, he'll dodge it.

Even if G4 runs out Luffy's not too far from his regular power level and will be able to fight back until he get his Haki back.
 
This is why I barely touch One Piece anymore.

Every time I've made a match with One Piece, it always won. And lately I've been adding victories for One Piece characters a lot, especially Luffy.

I know that's not always the case, but I'm kinda burned out on the series unless I find a really good one.
 
Well, the main difference between X and Y is their ability and their approach. Y is more inclined to use fire while X is more of a physical fighter. See, the thing with the scaling is that Megas scale to being vastly superior to being 2x Pokémon that are vastly superior to 530 MT. And with Tough Claws, X's physical AP increases by 1.5x passively without any boosting. X would attempt to abuse that and stay up and not allow Luffy to benefit from the fire resistance. If X outlasts Gear 4th, he's vulnerable to the piercing X does. And stat buffs (such as Dragon Dance) and reductions (such as Growl) help a lot. Furthermore, as a Dragon type, it might try to Dragonbreath, so there's paralysis to deal with. Finally, while fire is reduced against Luffy, the boost given by Sunny Day may cancel that out.
 
OP needs to specify which Mega this is, but it makes no harm to have the debate now.

First of all, Luffy's High 7-A is also a lowball since his Gear 2nd is already > 838MT and the Gear 4th is being taken as a 3x multiplier from the 838MT feat. The scaling doesn't take into account Gear 3rd, which even in his first usage at Pre-Timeskip, almost one-shoted Lucci and Gear 4th should be 3x that at the very least.

If Charizard tries to physically fight with Luffy he'll get way more problems than spamming ranged attacks because he's not only stronger and tougher with Gear 4th, but his precog is also an insane advantage that he won't be bypassing so easily. The blunt force will be resisted and Haki will prevent getting great damage from piercing moves unless Charizard becomes stronger than Luffy (but at best they should be relatively even).
 
Oh, I got nothing for the precog. The best I can say is that Charizard May have encountered a Lucario or Xatu or Gardevoir to know to deal with t but it's a massive reach.

Charizard boosting past Luffy isn't super difficult. Charizard's ability Last Bastion automatically boosts its AP and dura of its the last man standing (and given its the only one, it by default is), and Charizard's constant roaring with consistently blunt Luffy's own AP. X's passive boosts alone boost its AP 2x and its dura 1.5x.
 
Got something for the Conqueror's Haki? Because after getting excited of watching a fricker mothering dragon Luffy'd use it to tame him like he does to the beasts he usually faces.
 
Zard has access to the IQ skill Intimidator, which is essentially conqueror's haki. To put it into perspective, the ability in general works on the protagonists, who faced down Dialga without fear.

Speaking of IQ skills, dodging may not be in Luffy's best interest, as both of Zard's attack stats increase every time it misses via Practice Swinger.
 
Yeah, when he fought Katakuri he used Snakeman to make his fists faster the more they stretch.

Well, guess the Conqueror's Haki can't be used, I guess.

His argument of Charizard winning relies on Mega X but he voted for Luffy if this is Mega Y who we're talking about.

BTW, Chocomilk, which Charizard is this? Mega X or Mega Y?
