A lot of powerful verses are surprisingly popular and successful. Star Trek, Doctor Who, DC, Marvel, Elder Scrolls etc.

Arceus would probably have to be the master of his own tier, first, since Digimon 2-As are some of the strongest on the site (See Strongest Characters for Every Tier). Despite the fact that it's been added, Arceus vs Khorne seems like a stomp in hindsight.

I mean, Arceus and the Creation Trio are four Pokémon out of hundreds, so buffing the gods wouldn't tank their success on Pikachu and Charizard and Greninja and the like. Now if they decided to switch the focus to them, that would be a different story.

Yeah, but buffs may require some big things to happen to the cosmology which might affect the verse as a whole.

I've read in various theories that it's possible that the original spirit may be based in part on the concept of Ein Sof, so maybe gen 8 and the remakes of gen 4 end up bringing some surprises.
