When Characters Play Soccer Instead of Vs Battling - Vs Soccer Match Tournament - VS Battle Wiki Edition

Heya everyone! Have any of y'all here ever thought about doing something cool to take a break from gruesome death matches between characters? Well I got just the idea for you all! Believe me, you'll love it! It's a real kicker...pun intended!

I give you all VS Battle Wikia's very first fictional soccer tournament!

Vs_Battle_Wikia_Soccer_Tourney_Photo.jpg

Sure, death battles are always super fun to have. But havent you guys ever wondered what it would be like to have your favorite characters battle each other in a different way? A fun brain busting game? No punches, no deaths, just soccer taken to never before seen crazy levels! You all definitely should try it!

How Does This Tournament Work?

The rules are simple and easy to understand my friends!

Each round in this soccer tournament will be done according to our site's tiering system. That means we'll have:
  • A Tier 10 tourney
  • A Tier 9 tourney
  • A Tier 8 tourney
  • A tier 7 Tourney
  • A tier 6 tourney
  • A tier 5 tourney
  • A tier 4 tourney
  • A tier 3 tourney
  • A tier 2 tourney

And.....maybe tier 1 if that doesn't become too ridiculous lol. Otherwise, the rounds will be covering all tiers, and all the sub tiers within each one (ex: Tier 6 tourney allows all characters between 6-C and High 6-A) to determine the soccer team champions of every usuable tier in the tournament.

How Can Characters Be Picked?

It can be done verse by verse following soccer rules. For anyone who doesn't know soccer well, Soccer teams consist of 11 players total. We have:
  • One goalie
  • Defenders (to defend their teams goal from being targeted at by opponent team players)
  • Mid-fielders (In this position, players can either pass the ball to other teammates or steal the ball away from opponent players to prevent them from reaching the defense)
  • Forwards (The aces of the team who have the job of going on offense and striking the ball into opponent teams goals to score points)
Everyone can select a verse for each tier they are compatible with to represent them, and then create a soccer team out of those characters to combine their stats, abilities, and experience together into one powerhouse dream team of your making!

Then when forming a team to represent their verse, they can be pit against other teams in each tier round of the tournament. So instead of a vs debate where we debate which character kills the other, a vs soccer match is where we discuss which team is the likeliest to win against the other in a soccer game based on the characters on each team.

Doesn't this sound fun?! Really gets the big brain energy pumping with countless different strategies and combinations!

So what are the rules?

Very simple rules we could use here.

#1: No Direct Attacking

Self-explanatory rule to start out. This would be a soccer game, not a death battle, so directly attacking the opponent is the same as a penalty as physical attacking in soccer. It's not allowed.

Stealing the ball away from a player or breaking through defenses with kicking the ball that involve a character being knocked down would be an exception. As long as its not direct combat, it would be allowed.

#2: Canon Powers & Abilities Only

This one's simple too. The tournament only allows a characters canon stats, powers and abilities that have been accepted here on our site. And of course, powers that come from on-going revisions once they're accepted.

#3: Character Powers Must Fit Their Positions

Hax will be allowed in the games, but a character added into a team must have their powers and abilities match the position they play for and not use it for anything their position doesnt allow.

Example: A character who is a defender can use Elemental Manipulation to change the terrain in order to prevent characters from scoring goals, but as defenders, they cant use elemental moves to strike balls into opponent goals. They can only use their powers for defense, not offense.

Example B: A Character on mid field with time stop can stop time to steal a ball and pass it, but they cant use time stop to score a goal.

As long as the characters abilities can be used in the position you want them to play as, they are allowed. But if they cant be used in the given positions, they aren't allowed.

#4: Character Substitutions Are Allowed

Just like in soccer, and any real sport, extra characters to use as players are allowed. If desired or needed, characters who aren't on the main team can be brought as extra support to be substituted in and switch with other characters on their team, bringing even more versatile and unique combos.

And that's it my friends! If anyone thinks their verse has what it takes to have some awesome fun here and become soccer champs, come on up and join!

Naruto characters for tier 6? I spent much longer than I expected to for this.

Goalie would be Hashirama cause he has his wooden structures for defense especially the thousand armed Buddha, can force people to sleep and can make people blind. He also has his gates to bind people.

The Juubi is a defender, can create loads of small minions to block the ball and is pretty big on its own, also can shake up the offense with cataclysm.

Shukaku is also a defender with his sandstorms and ability to create sand structures.

Killer Bee/Gyuki is the final defender he can create ink seals to stop movements and can make huge ass tornados which is great for blocking the ball.

Mid fielders:

Minato: Clones, speed with teleportation can create a space-time barrier to teleport the ball to his team upon contact and really good senses with SM, also with kurama mode he has chakra arms to help with stealing the ball also a good strategist.

Naruto: Mostly Clone spam tbh, great distraction and is a bit of a brick and Kurama is a great strategist.

Juubito: With TSBs he can make big structures for defence and also create a huge ass barrier.

Isobu: Honestly more of a filler but he can create illusions which are useful I guess.

Forwards:

Basically susanoo squad:

Madara: He has a lot of stuff, wont bother listing them all down, but Limbo are great for invisible attackers and rinnengan abilities as well as some wood structure abilities and more. Susanoo is great for launching the ball crazy distances.

Sasuke: Mostly eye stuff and again susanoo.

Kakashi: Can teleport both himself and the ball and the opponent, again susanoo and other eye stuff.

Nominating Spooky's House of Jump Scares/Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion for Tier 9. Yep, a house full of deranged horrors is a perfect team for football/soccer. At least they will take a break from being stuck inside the mansion for so long.
Will be using their nicknames if applicable in order to avoid confusion with the monster/specimen naming convention.

Going to use the 4-4-2 formation

For Goalie:
Ringu (Specimen 4): She can blind enemies with static, preventing them from getting a clear shot and her extra arms along with teleportation and flight means she can easily block the ball from all angles.

Sub-Goalie: Specimen 1. It doesn't move at all and can swing open to deflect the ball. However, it's just a cardboard cutout so a strong enough force from the ball can break it. So it will be used for either against weaker teams first or a last minute substitution in case the main goalie is injured. Otherwise, it sits on the bench for moral support.

For Defenders:
Deer Lord (Specimen 8): Can blind foes with visual hallucination and static and emits a dark aura for...something. Also can change his size to block the ball.

Monster 2: Basically a lesser Deer Lord. Uses smoke manipulation to cover the area to partially blind foes and could alter the size of the soccer arena given it can change the size and shape of The Morgue.

Ghost Cow (Monster 5): It can cause opposing players to suffer partial or temporary blindness and can limit their field of view. It can also erase their memories and can manipulate their mind, making them easy to lose their focus. Can't move but does teleport so it could catch unsuspecting players off their guard.

Bab (Specimen 5): Though very slow, it makes up for it by altering the soccer arena with thick fog and can change the texture into various materials such as a river of blood to unnerve the enemy team. Can also induce visual hallucinations to thwart focus against opposing attackers.

Sub-Defenders:
Bekka (Monster 6): Can blind nearby foes with darkness. Pretty redundant as the defending team already has enough blinding hax so she sits out until she can sub in.

For Mid Fielders:
Food Demon (Specimen 11): Can cause his opponents to repeat an action over and over again throwing them off their game and can inflict visual hallucinations.

Specimen 3: Giant centipede...spider thing. Depending on the arena, if there is a ceiling with holes, it can climb up there and drop down to catch enemy players off guard and steal the ball. Otherwise, it will have to rely on its own physical prowess.

Monster 1: Pretty much there for filler. Doesn't really have any notable abilities.

Tirsiak (Unknown Specimen 4): Can summon shadows of animals to block the ball or can throw off guard from opposing players. Can turn intangible to bypass defenses and steal the ball from other players. She can cause opposing players' vision to be blue tinted just by being near her.

For Forwards (or Strikers):

The Protagonist: Has unlimited stamina so they could most likely not get tired easily. Otherwise they posses no notable skills or abilities.

Spooky: Her intangibility and ability to remove running makes her easy to break and bypass defense and attackers and she can steal the ball easily. Also her teleportation makes her hard to catch.

Sub Forward:
Specimen 13: This siren doesn't have any likely capabilities on ground so she sits out by default. But if the arena is full of water, she can sub in and can easily get the ball and get around defense due to her being unseen and excelling underwater.

Overall, Spooky's team has plenty of hax and abilities to easily wear down the opposition thanks to the many ways they can induce hallucinations, blindness and altering the arena. Most of her teammates are ghost/spirits (Spooky herself, too), which they share flight, teleportation and intangibility, making it easy to get around and steal the ball with these abilities.

Very interesting!

Following. Also, if I were to make a My Little Pony team, would it be in Tier 4 or Tier 3, since the keys tend to be "At least 4-B, likely High 3-A"?

Wakfu team: I think they would either be in tier 2 or 3, percdel and ogrest are the forwarders, yugo and qilby are the mid fielders, nox and goultard are defenders and xelor is the goalie

Very interesting
Following

Tier 7 and 8 seem like they are gonna be especially interesting
Although are flight and lifting the ball via telekinesis or energy tendrils allowed

Hmm. Flight is an interesting case. I’d say case by case basis depending on the location of the game.

Telekinesis is definitely allowed, but probably only for goalie, defender or mid fielder positions where there’s not much offense.

My hero academia for tier 8
Formation
4-4-2
Strikers
Izuku Midoriya-Can use blackwhip from his mouth to tag the ball so he doesn’t need his arms to use it and isn’t violating any rules, Shockwave based true flight with Float, shockwaves to long range knock the ball into the goal.

Katsuki Bakugo-Psuedo flight with explosion to move into the air in brief efficient bursts while handling the ball(can go for much longer in the air but it likely isn’t practical in soccer), extremely aggressive and constantly puts pressure on the enemy

Goalkeeper
Nine-Weather Operations for oppressing the goal box and knocking enemy players off balance, water dragons to tag the ball in a 1v1, barriers for blocking shots at the goal

Defense

Shoto Todoroki:Ice for creating walls on the spot, can slide on his own ice to improve agility, fire(not offensively but defensively)to make enemy players back off or force them to run around him

Kai Chisaki: De and Reconstruction for making walls like Shoto and can tag the ball with the objects he creates.Along with reconstructing the entire terrain

Geten:Benefits from being combo’d with Shoto who can generate ice of his own and can borrow the supply to help put pressure on attackers, can float using ice

Twice:Clones lol gg, and could basically overwhelm the enemy defensively even if the whole team came at him

Midfielders

Mirio:Can stealth tackle enemies using permeation and phasing through and out of the ground, known for being capable of predicting enemies well

Tokoyami:His quirk is good for what is technically making a 12th player ton the field aswell as using it for intercepting people it would be impossible for him to reach on his own, can also use it to scout the pitch

Ryukyu - Her large size can assist a lot in controlling the space

Gran Torino-Hard to predict, can swoop in and take the ball seemingly out of nowhere with his pseudo flight can knock it away in quick succession

Bench:
Midfielder Sir Nighteye:Can do precog in real time after touching an opposing player allowing him to know what they’re gonna do and who they will pass to, allowing him to control the flow of the match

Midfielder Eraserhead:Can power null enemies from a long range and prevent any of their powers from being used like terrain control or spacial control, effectively turning them into normal players and allowing his team to overwhelm them

This looks like a very solid tier 8 line up.

You can also add in extra characters to the line up to swap in if you want too.
