When can fiction be scaled to real life? and similar questions.

So I was just wondering this because if there is something, like say a giant cat and dog, could they be compared to Large Cats (Pumas, Tigers, Lions, etc) and Large Dogs (Wolves and other wild dogs)?

Would fictional versions of animals have things like the enhaced senses of the real life counterpart unless they out right say the opposite? (Ex. JP Rexy)

Should vehicles that are in fictional sourses be compared to the real life versions or similar standard types unless it is contradicted in the sourse?
