What is counted as magic in DnD?

As said, I always see in DnD tier 2/1 threads "X ability is just mere magic in DnD".

But what are these abilities?

To be short, magic in DnD is the will of the world present everywhere, and through the Weave, Mystra's body, wizards are capable to bend matter, energy and life.

Magic is the manipulation of the energies of the Serpent, a cosmological force more than a character and a being on par with the Lady of Pain and/or Ao the Overdeity. From him, magic sort of descends into the normal verse and only becomes usable for most people via the Weave, a multiverse-spanning structure that is the goddess Mystra's body. Wizards manipulate this knowingly, sorcerers manipulate this subconsciously, clerics and paladins manipulate this through sheer belief that they can.
