Because Pokemon is a game, not a manga. Shueisha could have replaced the mangaka's for multiple other best selling series, but why didn't they? Because they can't. Once the mangaka decides the series is over, it's over. This isn't like American comics where the writers can just be changed, unless the mangaka wants someone to continue their work.

Pokemon is a media franchise ...and they haven't replaced Hori because clearly right now things are working out and Hori is clearly happy with working on MHA and they clearly have a good working relationship....if he decided to call it quits then yes...Shueisha can choose to continue with someone else.

You can make the argument that the quality may suffer for it but they are 100% in their legal right to tell Hori to kick rocks while they do whatever they want with the series since they own it. Even if Hori didn't want them to continue there'd be nothing he can do about it. He can't sue them and he sure as hell isn't winning sole rights to the series.

That being said that unlikely would happen, chances are it would be a Boruto/Kishimoto scenario where Hori would give them their blessing to continue and collaborate sometimes rather than souring their relationship with him.

...You're really missing the point ya know. Multiple series have had their moments of fame, big ones at that, before falling from that fame. Examples include Bleach and Toriko. Wanna know what happened to them during their decline? Toriko was cancelled, and Bleach either ended because of Kubo's poor health, or because it was cancelled. From what you've been saying, they could have replaced both mangaka, but they didn't. Shueisha would rather cancel a series before switching mangaka, which they can't because they obviously would have in these situations. Oh, that's not including the fact that multiple other mangaka ended their series by themselves when they were done, such as Matsui, the mangaka for Assassination Classroom, or Toriyama, the mangaka for Dragon Ball. And you have yet to provide an example of mangaka's getting booted and replaced yet, so can we really trust your word? Still though, this conversation ends here, as it'd probably be unwise to continue derailing the match.
