The ability to predict and react to an opponent's moves has been a cherished ability for many skilled swordsmen. When one false move typically meant the end of you, it was a fair goal to attempt to try to see around your opponent's strategy in order to give yourself an advantage in a duel. However, for the two combatants today, they can do more than just attempt to look past their opponent's strategies. While one can literally read the mind of the opponent and react to their thoughts, the other can gaze slightly into the future and adjust his course to strike at his enemy. But, which kind of precognition will prove superior in this fight? Today, we find out!

In the blue corner, we have Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles, and in the red corner, we have Zanku from Akame ga Kill!

Shulk blade
Zank fighting Tatsumi
-This is a battle to the death or incapacitation. No holds barred.
-Neither character are aware of each other beforehand, and there is no prep time.

-Neither character are allowed any outside help, so no Team Attacks for Shulk.

-This battle takes place on Gaur Plain at night, giving Shulk the technical home-field advantage.

-Obviously, Shulk is currently weilding the Monado I.

-Speed is equalized.

With all this being said, let the debate begin.

Shulk: 7 (Chartate101, Theglassman12, Dark DragonMedeus, Litentric Teon, Veloxt1r0kore, Xanxussama1010, Rauoravven)

Zanku: 0

Inconclusive: 0

Monado Shield lets him tank at least some of Zanku's hits (Shulk has at least 3.9 tons dura and Zanku has 5 tons AP, and Shulk's was at least and a lowball), Monado Enchant lets Shulk raise his AP, which should make it at least close, Shulk is smarter (proven to be gifted in and outside of battle, where as Zanku is just a smart assassin), and Shulk has higher stamina (running entire days on end without rest >>>>> the no description Zanku has), and Shulk can heal himself.

As for precog, I have no clue how Zanku's works, so i won't comment on that.

As you can see, I think Shulk takes this handidly.

also, OP, please make Shulk red corner and Zanku blue corner. Right now its the other way around, even though Shulk wears red and Zanku weras blue/purple

But Shulk's the good guy and Zanku's the bad guy, hence their placement as blue and red respectively. Plus, you can say Shulk's blue comes from the color of his Vision, which shows scene in the near future in a blue tint, and since Zanku loves to kill, he's red due to his murdery attitude. So, justification.

-He can read people's minds, allowing him to anticipate his opponent's next move.

-He can cause himself to be perceived as his enemy's loved ones, causing his opponent to hesitate in combat. (So, in this case, probably Fiora or something)

By doing this, he was able to basically stomp base Tatsumi, and ended up matching Akame blow for blow until her superior speed overwhelmed him.

Well that doesn't really seem like something that would help against Shulk cause his foresight will let him know on what will happen. Mind readers aren't a big deal for Shulk considering he can fight off Telethians, who can do just that. Even if the illusion does manage to land, Shulk would get a vision of him being sneak attacked by Zanku and can see that it's an illusion, which would make him more furious and more willing to slice him apart.

Top that off with a huge versatile abilities thanks to ether gems, being able to paralyze, power null, and manipulate Zanku's perception at the same time with Monado purge, enhancing his stats and debuffing Zanku's stats all around makes this a pretty easy win for Shulk.

That's a clear seven. This match can be added now.

Okay. So let's get this point out of the way.

Shulk gets AP stomped badly, Zank is equal to Akame who casually stomped BoS Tats who stomped a monster that performed a 5 ton feat by moving, add on that Shulk in this form has zero Durability negating Hax and he cannot do any form of reliable damage to Zane.

Second off, people also ignored that his trump card causes the opponent to see an illusion of the one they live most causing the opponent to be incapable of attacking unless said character either resists illusions or are willing to kill the one they love most which, Shulk doesn't resist either Ag least not enough (Given it worked on Esdeath

I shouldn't say the reasoning is "Absolute garbage" because it isn't, but Glass completely glossed over the scaling chain for Zank and only looked at the AP, which is common and Ive done it before

Granted, that doesn't exactly explain how Shulk gets around his trump card, which is a pasty of my reasoning

It helps that his precog comes from Zanza, so the Monado likely won't be fooled by Illusions.

Shulk has precognition, so he might be able to see it coming if in his future he sees something that he knows cannot be right. It's also not like the illusion nulls his precog anyway, so Shulk could still react accordingly. He's not going to sit there and let someone try to kill him. And he has enough sense to know that his loved ones wouldn't try to kill him.

Showing him Fiora might actually be a terrible idea.

That....Doesn't explain its potency though?

Just because it comes from something higher up doesn't mean it's that affective

That's exactly why 2A Golden King with his glares wasn't accepted

BTW, since illusions and Mind Manipulation are within the same category and it worked on Esdeath...Yeah

Also

"And he has enough sense to know his loved ones wouldn't try to kill him"

So does Esdeath.

Illusions doesn't help at all against someone with precognition on the level of having an entire vision on what is exactly going to happen

Yes they do, illusions fool Precog if he has no resistance

People that do have resistance still failed to see past them.

Shulk has zero resistance

That doesn't change anything. The visions literally show him the future on what will happen, and how it will happen. It's not Sasuke's Sharinghan where it's precognition via muscle movement. He literally sees what Zanku will do ahead of time before he has the chance to do it. Whether it's a sneak attack, using the illusions, or trying to blitz or overwhelm him

Fair enough. But that also doesn't address literally the remainder of my argument. As glass has said, precog means he can see the illusion coming a good period before it happens.

Also, what does him seeing his loved one mean for the fight anyhow? Is Zanku showing him Fiora going to mean that he automatically stops fighting? Being in an illusion is not a form of power nullification, so even if he does get caught, he can fight based upon precog alone.

Yes it does

Illusions are meant to showcase illusions that aren't physically present to effect the person's perception

His trick is making Zank so those illusions, unless he has resistance Precog isn't going to tell him it isn't there.

Zanku shows Shulk an illusion of Fiora.

Shulk sees Fiora/Zanku attacking him with his Vision.

Shulk reacts and dodges/counterattacks.

1. You made this match thinking that?

2. Won't work, as I already stated unless someone can show me him having resistance to illusions

BTW he uses his trump card extremely early, so he's bound to get it off this fight near the start

@Gargoyle you clearly don't know how shulk's visions work if you think that his visions WON'T let him know ahead of time that the illusions are there and are meant to trick him.
