Within the infinite upon infinite formlessness of chaos, bubbles of "form" can come into being, each with their own randomly defined sets of rules through which to function. When one forms without sentience, it is called a "reality", but when one takes form with sentience, it is referred to as a (primordial) god. It is from one of these, which other gods or realities may be directly or indirectly birthed, spawned, crafted, or otherwise created. The realm of man is just one of the many countless realities subject to the will of the gods.

For eternity, the Old Gods waged war over the Throne of Heaven, for whoever sits upon it controls the laws of all realities and reigns supreme over all the other gods. The reason why this is the case or where it even came from is long forgotten. Maybe a greater force created it, or maybe it always was there. Whatever the reason, the gods have always fought each other for the chance to control its power. The owner of The Throne has changed hands countless times, from Amun-Ra to Zeus, to the Great Buddha, and many others. Every time the ruler of the world changed, history was reset to its beginning, and any rival pantheons were conventionally banished from the Earthly plane. Every creation myth is the memory of these otherwise forgotten beginnings of the reigns of gods.

Eventually, a faction arose, comprised of many gods, demons, and humans that despised or otherwise grew bored with the current state of heavenly affairs. Naming themselves Prometheus, after the banished titan, they would fool the Old Gods into permanently disqualifying themselves from using The Throne of Heaven with the help of Loki and other tricksters. Prometheus subsequently used it to split fragments of its infinite power into several Lesser Thrones before implementing a new set of rules for obtaining them all. The Throne and The Seats were to become temporary positions attained through democratic elections, with any pantheon formed before this new system being ineligible to hold them. Only humans and lesser-known or otherwise independent deities are eligible. As a contingency for the Old Gods' potential machinations, the potential candidates for the seats were automatically given a boon by The Throne: their divinity now gradually increases over time, and some may gain abilities from beings throughout countless other realities.

You find yourself in one of the great halls of Heaven, surrounded by your newfound contemporaries. Fellow gods, humans, demons, and others crowd the room. Your reasons for being here are your own, but if human you may have been invited here personally by some being or another. Frenzied murmurs flood the hall regardless... Prometheus, that mischievous faction of Tricksters really outdid themselves this time. You may have heard whispers of their plan but you never imagined they would actually be able to pull it off... did you? Many of their members stand front and center, explaining their dastardly deeds.

"I'll repeat myself once again." Odysseus states, "The Age of the Old Gods is now over, and their Seats are open to everyone in this room previously unaffiliated. Those interested only need to think of the Seat they desire most, and their name will appear on the list of candidates for that Seat. You can run for as many Seats as you like, but you can only hold one at a time."

"The Old Gods won't take kindly to this transgression." Sisyphus adds, "But Loki is buying us some time. For now, they fear the power The Throne can bring, unaware that no one currently claims it. Unfortunately, their ignorance can only last so long. But we're prepared for whatever their wrath will bring. Each of you is being steadily supplied power by The Throne. Your Divinity increases with every second!"

"Indeed." Odysseus continues. "However that alone won't be enough to prevent The Old Gods from killing us all when they arrive. For that, you must vote each other into The Seats of Heaven. We understand this is a grave responsibility. Any among you who wish to have nothing to do with this is free to do as you please, but know that The Old Gods will likely hunt you regardless. We'll hear any questions you may have, but once you're ready, there are some agendas that may require your attention, if you're willing."

Odysseus points to a portal by the wall.

"The gate over there will lead you to Central Park New York. Exit at your leisure, or... you can do whatever you like really. Sisyphus and I will remain here for now as your guides and as contacts for Prometheus. Good luck."

This is a sandbox. You're free to go wherever and do whatever.

The common populace is blissfully ignorant of the supernatural, though there are some exceptions. There are organizations around the world dedicated to dealing with such things, but the general public is unaware of their true purpose.

Heaven, or Elysium, is the place where the gods live and conduct their business. It's populated by the undying souls of heroes, saints, and the like as well. It is a literal paradise, extending infinitely in all directions. Time and Space don't work the same way as on the Earthly plane. To get somewhere, you only have to know where you're going, meaning you've either been there before or you were invited.

Hell is the realm of demonkind and where most dead will go. It's populated by the undying souls of most men. It tends to get a bad rap but it's not the most pleasant place either. It's in essence a huge slum.

If you meet your untimely demise, you will arrive back in Heaven, Hell, or some other such location depending on the circumstances. By default, you arrive in Hell upon death. You can return to life by spending 100 EP, increasing by 100 with each revival, but you can only revive once per page. You could alternatively of course receive the aid of the gods or some other outside force to return to life.

The starting time is 8 am in New York.

Magic LevelCapabilities

(Note: As a general rule, abilities that otherwise fit the description of one level might be ranked a level or so higher if they can be easily used indiscriminately on a large scale. Conversely, if they can only be used to a very limited extent such as under precise conditions, on a specific target(s), or having an excessive wind-up or cooldown period, they could be ranked a level lower.)
Equivalent Hax level

(Maximum, it may fall under a lower Hax level and still fit the descriptions here.)
Examples

(Note: Real-world examples are relative to a normal human. Other examples disregard the potency of specific abilities to the extent they will always work, for the sake of the example.)
1Basic usage of the ability. Can harm others with it if used offensively, but would have a difficult time killing anyone of a comparable strength through this ability alone. Defensively, provides only marginal protection or buffs. Essentially these abilities on their own can't be relied on to win a fight and should be used in tandem with other skills to be effective.HaxlessA lighter, oven mitts, an umbrella, a flashlight, a cellphone, a fire extinguisher, road spikes, a pitfall trap, a lasso
2Ability can be useful on its own in battle and can definitely kill with enough time and effort, though the user would have to go well out of their way to do so or otherwise get very lucky if using this ability alone. Can be relied on when used defensively to block/avoid hits or provide useful buffs or other positive benefits such as healing. Likewise, minor debuffs and status ailments are also possible.LowA taser, an improvised weapon or shield, airsoft and paintball guns, a whip, a flashbang grenade, Cruciatus Curse, Remote Punch
3Ability can be relied on as one's main form of attack and can kill opponents of similar strength with medium effort. As such, it can provide more useful buffs, debuffs, and status effects and generally be a huge pain for the opposition to deal with; often gives a decent strategic advantage that shouldn't be ignored.LowA flamethrower, a sword or spear, a simple car, a bulletproof vest, Caduceus Staff, Full Counter, Wither Effect
4Ability is a huge asset in general and can easily be the deciding factor in battle if a counter for it is not found. Will almost always cause massive damage in very few hits, potentially even certain death under the right conditions. Defensively can make the user nigh untouchable without a proper way of dealing with it specifically. May otherwise make them extremely resistant to a specific element, damage type, etc. Can induce game-changing status conditions. While powerful, the ability should have some major downside or weakness, or otherwise, be easily avoidable.MidMost firearms/handheld explosives and their respective armors. Love Commandment, Purple Haze, Special Beam Cannon
5Ability is almost guaranteed to produce a certain win condition should it land; abilities of this level are finally worthy of being called one's trump card. May singlehandedly protect the user from several forms of attack to a limited extent or a few of them almost completely. Can grant debilitating and decisive status conditions that would need to be dealt with by the opponent to have anything but the smallest hope of winning. Still, there should always be some way for others to avoid or get around this ability, however slim.MidCastles, siege weaponry, rocket launchers, Domain Expansion, Zabaniya: Delusional Heartbeat, The Ruler
6Ability is a certain win in most circumstances if not explicitly countered or avoided. Can and likely will instantly kill or induce some other decisive victory condition. May make the user virtually immortal if used defensively, or provide extreme resistance to several different abilities. While still avoidable, doing so is almost impossible under equal conditions or without a direct counter.HighArmored tank/attack helicopter (or other such vehicles), Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, God Hand
7Ability is essentially a certain win that is virtually impossible to avoid outside of niche circumstances or technicalities, such as being an invalid target or out of range. Should almost always result in an easy victory when used and not outright countered. Defensive use may make the user practically invulnerable to a wide variety of abilities. Should still have some exploitable if minor weakness or similar limitation, though this would not inhibit its usefulness in any significant way.HighLarge scale non-nuclear explosives, carpet bombings, nerve gas and biological warfare, Gae Bolg, Dynakinesis, Megidoladyne
8Ability is not only a guaranteed win but outright overkill in most circumstances. Should be able to instantly deal with several opponents of the same level with minimal effort or danger to oneself in the absence of a direct counter. Such abilities could make the user practically untouchable, whether they're innately defensive or not. If any weaknesses exist, they're massively outweighed by the ability's other advantages.Very High
(Gesture/Action based)
Nukes and similar weapons of mass destruction. Deathsongs, Chaos Meister, Accelerator
9Ability is singlehandedly a surefire win if not actively dealt with by opposition. Generally impossible to avoid and must be otherwise countered, or better yet prevented. May be borderline passive and/or retroactive. Defensively, the ability may completely negate damage, negative effects, or other such tactical setbacks. Usually has few if any inherent weaknesses, but none that hinder its practicality beyond the user's innate competence.Very High
(Thought based)
Dichroic Mirror, All Fiction, Authority of Vainglory, The World (Anima)
10As above, but no longer relies on the user's competence. Produces instant win conditions for the user with no effort whatsoever. Resistance is the only counter to an ability of this level.GodlyThe Almighty, Instant Death, Gold Experience Requiem

Lord Master Sigan
The god, formerly primordial, Lord Master Sigan, god of magic surveyed the Seats around the Throne Of God. These lesser Thrones, called Seats for some reason, were all interesting in their own way, but what made the god of magick so intrigued was the "Seat Of Mysticism". Let's do be honest, these seats were all Thrones. Sigan looked at the throne of Mysticism as if he missed it. "Ah, there's something familiar about that one, over there." He thought to himself. Yet his memories of this dimension were fuzzy. He could not, actually remember much of anything yet. He was not alive as a mere god for long.
"I am Lord, Master, Sigan."
"Of course I vote myself for the Throne, well, "Seat" of Mysticism. Let's do be honest, everyone, all of these Seats are Thrones. Just lesser thrones than the "Throne"." He puts himself in place for the Seat of Mysticism.

While some others are probably experiencing the confusion of a lifetime, a certain AI is... also deeply confused, but less so overall. Operator has no idea how "he" was contacted or found in general, given everything he's done to mask his presence. Not to say he is physically hidden, as he has simple taken up residence in a local server farm, but from all outside perspectives he shouldn't be discernable. Although, before the correspondent left, Operator did ask for his name to be put on the ballot for the Seat of Cunning. Nothing else really fit, he thought.

Having been so rudely awoken during his cooling cycle, he feels a need to vent some heat, metaphorically anyways.

Ugh, that "cyberspace idol" botnet is online again. I thought I destroyed it a week ago? How obnoxious.

Given that destroying it has consistently lead to recurrence, Operator simply decides to place it on watch for now, to better document it and its activities. At the same time, he catches up on CCTV footage collected while he was cooling.

Having her daily dose of terrorism rudely interrupted, Ms. Shivers was more than a little annoyed. She didn't particulary care about the dictorial sociopolitics enforced by the old gods, having simply resigned to fate long ago.

But alas. They were, for now, defeated. All have a chance for real politics. No more bullshit.

Ms. Shivers ran her fingers creepily through her own hands, laughing totally-not-maniacally-at-all. In the middle of a crowd. Of Gods and Demons.

She would put her name into the Seat of War and hear at least one Agenda.

The entity has to wonder why exactly it was brought here, given its very nature is rather opposed to the beings present here. Of course, the seat of Death is certainly of interest, so it has elected to use this opportunity to observe and gain information, rather than immediately pursuing its duties. Thus, it placed its candidacy.

It, or rather, by outward appearances, she, remained silent for the moment. An aura of deathly cold exuded from the strange looking woman, whose appearance almost felt as if it was in monochrome, wreathed in energies foreign to reality.

Whether or not this oddity would be detected depends on the observer, but those who do detect it may recognize it best to avoid this one.

She remains silent, observing the one that addressed her for a time. Curious at its bravery, in some regards, and uncertain on what it speaks of.

Then, she speaks.

"To what does this being refer?"

"It is a consequence of my presence. It cannot be staunched, only strengthened."

The entity replies, though does not do anything else aside from stare at the one that spoke to her with a vague hint of curiosity.

Shivers only puts her hands in her hips with a curious look in her face.

"Damn, that's sad. My bad then, Emo Lady."

She takes a step farther away from her, rubbing the cold away from her shoulders.

"Why does this being approach that which poses danger to it?"

She speaks up again, standing in the same spot as before, far enough that the cold does not reach.

Having been invited to this place, the demon of course attended and listened in on this briefing. After hearing the representatives of Promethus speak, Algos thought on what was said for a moment.

Only one seat at a time huh? Guess I should put each of our names down for one, and just see who gets to hold one between us, the Throne would be nice and all but...

He puts his name down for the seat of war, and Hedone's for the seat of love, and having decided that he might as well continue being proactive, to an extent at least, he speaks up.

"You mentioned agendas that need attention, what might those be?"

Standing amongst the crowds of gods, demons, humans, and other beings alike, Shiro rubs his right hand through his hair contemplating the situation. After a moment of concentration, he feels himself being almost pulled in the directions of the thrones. He begins to approach the various beings admiring and wishing for their chance at taking the place of the once rulers of the world. He looks at each one and wonders which one calls to him so.

Cunning, Love, Sea? No those aren't it. Could it be War or Mysticism? No those aren't it either. Light, that's what's calling to him! But its strange he also feels compelled towards the Death and Sky thrones as well. How Curious he thought.

"Heh, well if this is some sort of sign then might as well give it a shot"

Shiro concentrates and places himself in the running for the Light, Death, or Sky thrones.

"Now then, I heard something about Agendas, I wonder what sort of stuff is needed of me."

Hmmmm...

I put my hand to my chin.

I'm a fan of the sky...and the ocean...and...light's not too bad I guess. Might as well throw in the Throne of God.

I emphasize my thoughts on becoming a candidate for the Seats of the Sky, Sea, Light and for the Throne of God.

A young man sits leisurely among the crowd atop a miniature cloud. He had not been invited, for he was no one, but he had found his way inside regardless. He scratches his nose and grins.

Moving metal, animated matter and an aroma of death. And also gods, demons, humans and more. The world really is a big place!

His eyes sparkle with electricity as he puts his signature into the Throne of God, the Seat of War and the Seat of the Sky, their priority in the same order.

I'd like to get going, but I'll at least hear out what the gist of these "agendas" is

The thoughts of many individuals in the hall flow into Remy's mind. Many have asperations of acquiring these "seats".

''I just came here because I got an anonymous tip about a strange vortex appearing, and somehow I ended up here.''
A strained smile appeared on her face before she chuckled a bit upon looking at the individuals around her.

''Demons, Gods, and other weird creatures, some of which I can't even read their minds... that they all really exist in one place... What a quarry...''
Remy had seen many supernatural events, and even talked to supernatural beings, but never has she been in a room with more than one of them.
She was just investigating the portal and happened to fall in; only for it to be announced that her "divinity" is increasing every second and that she can be a candidate for some "seat" which from what she can understand amounts to being a god.

''But.. Aren't some of these people already gods? What would happen if a god gets a seat? They become a super god? What's a the difference between a god/demon getting a seat and a human? Mama never told me about any of this.''

This entire situation actually gave her quite a headache. She looks around once again.

''With all of this high competition, there's just no way someone like me could get a seat, not that I'd care for it much anyway. But, if I did, I suppose the seats I would be interested in are- !?''

In the next moment, Remy Jenkin's name appears on the list of candidates for three seats. Mysticism, Light, and Cunning.

"W-What the!? I only thought about them!~W-What a quarry..." Remy says with a sigh.
Her thoughts are in quote boxes.

When they told me I was one of the few chosen to replace the Old Gods, I believe they forgot to mention the Old Gods were also going to actively try and kill everyone who were chosen. Worse yet, the only thing that can possibly stop them is currently unoccupied and gathering dust as we speak. Suppose I should have read the fine print.

Looking around at the people beside him, or rather, beings, Chris couldn't help but look a bit confused. Apparently, Prometheus thought bringing AI, Demons, Gods and Humans and whatever else into the same room to compete for a limited amount of seats was a good idea. There was bound to be bloodshed quickly.

Next, Chris looked at the Seats in front of him. Though he knew he could just apply for all of them, that seemed like quite the bother to gain votes for every seat while the same people were vying after the same ones. He finally decided on the Seats of War, Sky, Cunning and Sea, as they seemed to probably be the easiest to get, though personally he'd prefer War. The Throne of God seems a bit out of his league. He isn't exactly picky about which seat does which, as long as it gives him a semblance of a fighting chance.

Finally, Chris realised the old guy spoke of some "Agenda's" that needed to be done. Resigning himself to his current situation, and the fact he'd probably have to go to New York, he sighed once again and looked up at the members of Prometheus before him.

"So, what exactly are these "Agenda's" you need completed?"

"Oh, no." Sigan looks towards the Throne of Mysticism. "I'd rather simply get the job of "God". That would be wonderful. I hope that there'll be no Byzantine politics and throat cutting intrigue. Maybe absolute power doesn't have to corrupt us absolutely!?"
"Well, it seems that this power isn't as absolute as it seems, then."
"Whomever Remy is , good luck."

Alexis thinks to herself, taking in the information she has.

'A seat of a god. Maybe by taking one of those seats...'

'You can escape the role you already have, hahaha. Am I right?' Another voice resounds through her head. 'Tut Tut, you don't seem to understand the role you have if you think you escape it in such a way. Especially THAT throne. Maybe that nosey nebby can inform you of the common sense you lack.'

However, used to it's mannerisms she ignored it. Setting her sights on obtaining the Seat of Love she walks through the portal.

"Eheh, you people sure pulled quite the trickery you did on those old stinkers. I'm impressed you managed to pull it off, big kudos!" (y)❤️

He compliments the members of Prometeou, generating emoticons.

Nooow for what seat she wants to candidate... yes. All of them.

"So so flame boys, how exactly does one go to gain votes in this system? And how many do you need to get assigned a throne ?" 🤔

Algos turns his head toward the... creature that somehow spoke with a hyperlink, staring in confusion.

How is that even possible, what?

"Stop talking. All of you stop talkin- ****, I'm the demon and I think you all are weirdos."

Shivers leaves Heaven from the portal that leads to New York, flipping off everyone behind her.

She atempts to get some fresh air before being immediatly assaulted with the wretched smell of industral captalism. She enters a coffing fit.

"Urgh, the smell of money."

She readies her bombs.

"Normally, I'm less obvious than this, but given the whole running for seats thing, it gives an excuse to let loose, because this is inexcusable!"

And thus, fire bombs flied everywhere, although magically missing people. It was a marvelous sight of fire.

It almost seemed as though nothing of note had happened... at least until two people suddenly appear in central park before his very,.. security cameras, one of whom immediately throws firebombs in every direction.

What in the...

While he alerts fire services as soon as he sees this happen, he notices that nobody is actually being hurt by the flames. How unusual.

Odysseus clears his throat.

"Right. The Agendas available are leftover from the prior reign. Things they couldn't deal with, or couldn't bother to anyway. Right now you only have access to the most basic ones, since none of you hold a Seat. Clearing a few should still grant each of you a fair deal of power though."

Basic Agendas:

Eliminate Global Pandemic

Create World Peace

Stop Global Warming

Basic my nonexistent ass

Whatever, Operator has more important things to focus on right now. Surmising that cooling cycles are extremely suboptimal for perpetuating his own existence, he begins work on a special piece of hardware, formed in a bricked-off janitorial closet.

The announcement reaches the crazy woman's ears despite not being in Heaven anymore. Funny how that works.

"Hearken, humans! 'Tis may seem like a dismal atempt at terrorizing thee, yet soon you shall see it was but an act of benevolence! I will reduce the world to a shadow of itself and build a perfect civilization, where only the strong rule, yet all are strong! REJOICE!"

She did not speak loud enough for anyone to hear over the fire. Idiot.

Noticing the pigs coming, she releases an explosion by her feet, altering the kinetic energy so it launches her directly into space.

Wait I can't breathe a-

And she immediatly plumets into some nowhere place in north africa, middle of the desert. She is only mildly discombobulated.

"God, I'm so cool."

She starts tinkering bombs. She may actually be able to help with an Agenda.

Algos looks at the agendas for a second, quickly realizing he probably couldn't do any of them without simply wiping out humanity.

"Right, well I guess I'll leave those to someone else." He comments to himself, stepping through the portal to Central Park.

As he does so he immediately sees the chaos, the fires raging from the insane lady that was throwing firebombs, who seems to have rocketed off into the sky like a cartoon character.

No one seems to be getting hurt though, so boring, guess I have no need to stick around then.

He decides to start walking away from the scene, and let humanity deal with it, while he thought on what to do.

"Thats new" he said to himself seeing all of this.

"The throne sounds interesting." he said.

"Lets look around for now." he said looking at the others who were brought

"So so flame boys, how exactly does one go to gain votes in this system? And how many do you need to get assigned a throne ?" 🤔
"You'll gain votes from your peers and from factions such as Prometheus, Earth Heaven and Hell (unaffiliated non-candidate residents) and even The Old Gods if they feel like joining in. Each of these factions holds as much as one vote for any particular Seat, as do Each of you. You can lock in your vote by willing it, much the same as your candidacy. Whoever has the most votes for their chosen seat by the deadline wins that position."

Basic Agendas:

Eliminate Global Pandemic

Create World Peace

Stop Global Warming
"I-"

These are the basic agenda's!? I'm not even sure how to respond. I suppose i'll just get a seat and try and deal with them when I actually can have an affect. Although, since I do have U.S. citizenship, I could just try and solve these problems if i'm elected President. Although, I will have to wait a couple years, which I probably don't have. Probably my best bet is to get a Mini-Throne or whatever they're called and see what I can do from there.

"Alright then, do any particular faction's votes count more than other, or are all votes equal in nature?"

Guess getting a seat isn't particularly easy, but getting good things never are.

The being takes notes of these agendas, though they are of little interest to it, and its solution may be a bit... direct. Still, its purpose isn't to kill humans primarily. It observes the oddities taking place in front of it, before placing a candidacy for the Throne of God as well.

At that point, it departs through the gate to see what is happening on the other side, noticing an excessive abundance of fire. Its presence and the cold it releases seems to quench the flames just by being there to some extent, though it does not take active effort to do so.
