The first Kars, before he fused with the other 36 of them, got punched by Pucci's Whitesnake and endless/unlimited/in the version I read, infinite amount of soul/mind disks came out. Each Kars has them, and all of the 37 Kars's fused together.

It's because he is the Ultimate Lifeform. That's the reason he can have as many stands as he wants, and even copy and give them to other people.

Some people have theorized he has one disk for every living creature that exists, because you know Ultimate Lifeform, but we don't get any concrete answer.
