Making characters fight something they fear

What is our take on matches involving certain characters and something they have a phobia of? Like putting Ranma against a cat, Doraemo against a mouse, or Squid Girl against a shark?

I find matches like those unfair, because this kind of characters with phobia will often defeat themselves without the opponent doing much work if any work at all. By just existing these creatures will make the opposing fighter run out of fear (self-BFR), faint or lose consciousness (self-KO) or turn into a crying/ paralysed wreck (self-incap). It is kinda like passive hax without really being hax. By just existing these beings will limit the opposing fighters from being in their best battle conditions due to their psychological fear alone.

There is no point in a battle if you put Ranma against a cat, knowing full well he'd faint or run away and will only enter Nekoken when pushed to his limit.

People who make these matches more than likely know one fighter's phobia after reading the Weaknesses section, and deliberately use said phobia to put the fighter at a disadvantage from the start. That's borderline Spite.

Overall, I just think matches where one fighter has to fight something they utterly fear is really unfair because said fighter is already at an extreme psychological disadvantage from the start and thus these matches shouldn't be made.

Your thoughts?

The best way to put it is, well, if it were a bloodlusted matchup, it'd be fair game since bloodlusted matches tend to ignore any other mindset combatants may have.
