Kirby intagibillity and incorporeality revision

Most of the profiles on playable Kirby characters state that they can "turn into an intangible ball of energy". I always considered this power to be a game mechanic. It's only useful in multi-player to make sure that slow players don't get left behind and can regroup with thier team mates on screen (this also applies to A.I controlled characters). If this power wasn't a game mechnic, then every character would use it far more often, right? I just don't see how it can be considered a legit power instead of a way for the game to drag your character back where they should be.

Kirby's profile also states that ghost Kirby is a soul, making him incorporeal. That seems fine at first, but then it says the environment that may harm living Kirbys passes right through him, which isn't true. Ghost Kirby is just as affected by lava as regular Kirbys, and the same goes for other kinds of terrain as far as I remember

Turning into a ball of energy is a technique called Space Jump, as many games portray it. On at least 1 (Super Star) it's something you can use with the press of a button (if you're a Helper). In Rainbow Curse Bandana Dee first meditates or something before using it. So while a game mechanic, it's a canon one and a real technique the characters can use. They don't use it more often due to game mechanics, CIS and the like.

In prior games Ghost Kirby could pass through the environment that harmed living Kirbys, like those hammers that flatten everyone, in the Fighters 2 they forgot to add it. The ghost forms in the latter game is portrayed as being a ghost and should be the same as Ghost Kirby, whose said to be a soul, so they're incorporeal in that game too, others aside from Kirby just shouldn't have the same text saying the stuff about the environment.

Huh. Ok. Sounds good to me lol

Just curious.

How does turning into balls of energy and then returning back to physical form on command not equate to some type of regen? Iirc reverting from physical to energy and back to physical is pretty good regen for other people.

Well, if you get attacked and logically against your will turn into energy and come back from it then that's regen, but if you yourself turn into it via your own ability to do so then it isn't regen. A character may even turn into ashes and back and not have regen, because their body is the ashes but in other form, it's not like that's what's left of it. Same with energy.
