Problem is, they suffering the Goten/Trunks syndrome. Togashi didn't acknowledge their age progression at all. Gon was supposed to be in his mid 13's by the time he meets palm, but still, he is called a 12yo.

Gon was still 12 when he dated Palm and when he got hospitalized, his birthday should be at the end of the year(At least september) to make sense. So Gon was 12 and would turn 13.

Gon cannot be 12 during Chimera Ants due to the timeline given by the manga itself.
Togashi doesn't acknowledge his own timeline.

Killua passed the exam in January that year. So they're still 12, just like they were 11 during the first hunter exam

All events of Chimera ants arc happens within that year. If Gon birthday is at the end of the year, or close to that. Then the doctors statements about Gon being 12 will still be valid, since that happens around July-August


The thing is, the timeline you sent is using Gon birthday from the databook, May 5th. Something Togashi didn't even have much involvement and has clearly been retconned
