Grappler Baki CRT + Downgrade- Fixing Yujiro's Earthquake Feat

REASONING
Yep, this is another thread about Yujiro's Earthquake feat. Let's put aside the whole debate on whether or not he actually stopped the earthquake, and just assume that he did. This accepted calc states that Yujiro stopped an earthquake with a Richter Scale of 6. This is just completely wrong. An Richter 6 Earthquake would:
Damage to a moderate number of well-built structures in populated areas. Earthquake-resistant structures survive with slight to moderate damage. Poorly designed structures receive moderate to severe damage. Felt in wider areas; up to hundreds of kilometers from the epicenter. Strong to violent shaking in the epicentral area. (Source)
We clearly see in later chapters that there is no rubble and the buildings are completely undamage (If the link isn't working, its Grappler Baki Chapter 174). This earthquake shook the entire city apperantly, so why are these buildings unaffected? Even if we do consider the argument, that all structures are earthquake-proof (which is true for Japan), there should still be "slight to moderate damage", not no damage. Also no rubble at all?

It is far more reasonable to assume the earthquake was a Richter Scale of 5 because:
Can cause damage of varying severity to poorly constructed buildings. Zero to slight damage to all other buildings. Felt by everyone. (Source)
This would give us the Low End of the accepted calc or 482.25 tons (8-A).
Thoughts?

Probably because Yujiro stopped the earthquake nearly instanly?

The earthquake is also supposed to be based on Great Hanshin earthquake which is brought up in the comments of the current calc

So it would instead be magnitude 7.2 of the richter scale

The result of the earthquake's yield should be way higher than the current accepted calculation

Manga literally shows the buildings doing this. They would be affected. Also going by the anime, the earthquake went on for at least 30 seconds, so no he didn't stop it instantenously.

Nope that was calced and debunked.
See above

The anime was around 23 seconds, not 30 and the Great Hanshin earthquake which had a magnitude of 7.2, didn't destroy all buildings, not all earthquakes work the same way and can be depended on how far away the buildings are from the epicenter.
That is not a debunk... The statement says around the times of April 1995, they aren't labaling the earthquake happening at that specific date
See above
means nothing...

What proof do you have of a Richter 7 Earthquake other than an unreliable statement?

Also according to your own source:
"5,500 fatalities and extensive damage to lifeline systems (i.e., highways, railways, buried pipelines, etc.)" - Yet in the following panels there isn't a hint of rubble. Hell, your source literally shows an image of a highway flipped on its side.
"Some buildings have been demolished and are under reconstruction, while many others are being repaired. Most existing highway bridges are being strengthened using various retrofitting schemes, e.g., steel column jacketing and seismic isolation bearings." - Your own source states buildings were affected.

It is in no way unreliable, the statement is from the 25th anniversary of grappler baki in Weekly shonen champion which the author are heavily involved with

Comparing via videos, show similaritys to the earthquake that happened in the manga, making people heavily lose their balance

Earthquakes don't continue for months afterward that means nothing.
Again... It doesn't say that... 1995 of april is when baki's mother died, it's not a date for the earthquake. The Great Hanshin earthquake happened around that time which was stated and is true

We have already been through this arguement. Baki's mom is standing still perfectly fine, as well as majority of the Mid-Tiers (Gerry Strydum). ****, Baki is standing on one leg fine.

The earthquake they are referencing happened in January which was over 3 months ago. It is not saying it is the same earthquake but happened around the same time. If I jump around a time (3 months after) a supernova goes off, do I scale to that supernova? Furthermore, Baki's mom died the night the earthquake went off.

So he didn't write, but instead oversaw it?

and? Means she has better balance I guess. The other many people are clearly losing their balance completely.

Bro what...? It is implying that it is based off of that earthquake which happened in a similar date, not that it's the same earthquake that happened after 3 months, just wrong reading comprehension
So he didn't write, but instead oversaw it?
He himself is involved in it and it's the official publishers of baki, he himself doesn't need to literally write it but yee he definitely oversaw it

idk really care for this but we have a guidebook statement of what the earthquake was and it was mag 7

So I just recommend this thread be closed lol
It says that events take place around that time, not that this was the earthquake. Furthermore, visual evidence directly contradicts the statement, and again it was calced and rejected.

Baki is on one foot and fine.

How much and to what extent did he oversee it?

I don't have that information and I don't need to find that information, they are the ones who publish the literal Grappler Baki manga, the author basically works for them
But it is not the primary source - the author
Oof🧍🏻

Yeah also disagree with this thread. The evidence isn’t convincing me about the low end.
Well you can disagree, but you should have good arguements

Disagree, using Emi as evidence for it not being above Mag 5 is faulty, especially when it's stated to be a "big one" and we're specifically shown several people struggling to stand in detail while she's only a background note
Baki is standing on one foot and fine. Being a "big one" is completely subjective.
Not to mention there's a reason Yujiro loves her in his own sick and utterly demented way (she's not exactly a "normal" human)
He literally no diffed her in the panels you provided wtf are you one about?

it is... Since the author works for them, he inputs his work to them.
But he didn't write it, somebody else did, meaning it is at best secondary canon.
In the one I linked it said it was good to use. So I don’t know what your talking about it being rejected.

Yours is on June while mines is July with the backing of other staff members.

Disagree
I am not talking about that one. I am talking about the one currently on the page. If it was accepted, then you should add it to the page.

But he didn't write it, somebody else did, meaning it is at best secondary canon.
He doesn't need to write it, all of it is official and is supervised by him, that's like saying the manga is secondary canon because someone else writes the texts... It is official information provided from the author, that's all that matters.

That isn't the same you are arguing in bad faith.

I will just say this before I get some snooze: Why did the book say around the time "around that time" instead of just saying "when Baki and Yujiro fought the earthquake happened." You are basing your entire feat on one faulty statement.

No

Then add calcs not based on a single faulty statement.
It literally was accepted so it’s completely fine to use I don’t know what else to tell you.

It’s not just calcs, it’s everything. P&A, scaling, skills for each character, and more.😭

It’s good bruh will just talk about this more tmmr.

That isn't the same you are arguing in bad faith.
I am not... It literally is the same, as the information comes from the author it doesn't matter who writes the texts

Idk what your questions is

I don't agree with this argument. Buildings in Japan are strong enough to withstand even 9 magnitude earthquakes.

I disagree with the OP.

I see your point but I feel like you're are being extremely nitpicky with the wording when pretty much all evidence points to mag 7.
put me down as disagree.
